Either way, got a mint, yet dusty Virus C looking for a good home in case someone is interested. Plenty of presets of that one used in my productions. ;)

Autograph it and put it on eBay! ;) Seriously, if you did that and spammed some of the EDM/music production classifieds (e.g., gearslutz, KVR, VSE) with your ad, you'd probably get a good chunk of change for it.

what cryo meant to say was that he will buy it, right c?

he already has a ti2 polar - doesn't get any better with the virus line !

Actually, I replaced my Polar TI1 with a TI2 keyboard recently, and downsized my entire hardware setup, for good this time. So, sorry guys, but I won't be buying it. :(

Sorry to piggyback, but what do people think of the DSI Mopho for bass?

I heard a youtube demo and it sounded really good and phatt. For the money I cant think of anything better for hardware bass, no?

trillian has the mopho perfectly sampled along w/ 75 other vintage bits. spend the same money and get a whole range of options :)

this is true but Trillian eats processor and you do lose features such as the Curtis Filters that come with the MoPho. Don't get me wrong, I love trillian, but samplers will never be able to replace hardware because of the filters and envelopes etc. In my opinions, those are the things that mostly help define a synthesizer, so when you take away those filters and envelopes (or even try to emulate them) you're not going to get a true feeling of the instruments you're sampling.

I had a Mopho for a while and currently have a Prophet 08 (Mopho is essentially a 1-voice P08 + subosc). One thing you'll find with the new DSI synths is that opinions are all over the place. I love my P08 and I loved the Mopho when I had it. I think it's a beast for basses and I highly recommend it, even more so if you can find a used one for $300 or less.

That said, don't you still have your Moog, Richard? I can't recall for sure, but I believe it was a Rogue? If you still have that, I'm not so sure that a Mopho will add a lot of new range, but it will definitely add some new flavor and it's got newer features, like the step sequencers, which are very versatile and can be mapped to any available destination (not just pitch). You might want to spend a bit more and get a Tetra, which will at least give you 4 voices.

Also, not sure if you're aware, but the Mopho keyboard is finally available - it not only gives you a small keyboard, it also adds more knobs/buttons, and mod/pitch wheels.

Thanks for the informative post.

I have the Moog Rogue but it isn't midi'd and when I play it in live there is always a slight latency and I end up having to move notes and find it pretty tiring tbh.

I could get the Moog midi'd for about £175, but I think I may aswell keep the Moog for a few duties and spend the cash on a cheap modern analogue unit for bass duties. I have suboombass and dcam synth squad for bass now, but tbh I'm never totaly happy with the tone and I can hear a difference between these and analgue hardware units - not really warmth per see, but a certain clarity and energy.

People tell me sylenth is good for bass, but especially with phones on I personally dont like it for bass much.

DjStephenWiley
sylenth is AWFUL for bass in my opinion. Maybe some saw bass but I have found it very hard to find and program "strong" bass from it. It's a very thin synthesizer and doesn't excel at sounds with rich lower frequencies. Amazing for some pads, leads, arps, etc. though. Doesn't use much CPU either considering the quality of sound it puts out, which is a big plus.

Demo'd the DCAM synths. Wasn't my cup of tea, and way too much CPU. The stringed synth was not bad at all, didn't care for the others.

Off topic, but I just ordered a MoPho. Hope it's good. Tis my first analog synth. It'll be interfacing with a Saffire Pro 40. Hopefully the conversion here reputable.

Thats what I'm wanting I think. Be interesting to see what you make of it - maybe post up a nice bass loop or something. I thought that track you posted here a while back was great. Did PM you about it.
