So pissed I missed this night... I would follow Gareth half way around the world, haha... but I was holding off because I was dead set on doing the Canada Day party instead.. Now, this lineup comes out!!! WTF... Not even sure bout makin' the trip now. Can somebody post the full lineup in the other thread? Where's the f'n trance?!?!?!?! :whip:

you live in columbus..make the trek to buffalo this weekend...hes here spinning on the beach monday for us at sunset bay in angola, ny (about 35-40 min outside of buffalo) for our unite music festival

haha, would love to... actually just heard about that festival recently. Hitting up my first DEMF, though, for a little variety. I did talk for quite a bit with Gareth in Miami this year, though...Extremely cool guy. Offered VIP treatment anytime we wanted to visit his club, but the bastard didn't offer to pay for the plane ticket, haha...:tongue2

The ONLY reason why I attended Freedom was for this man…GARETH EMERYYYYY!! This was the 4th time that I have seen him live and I’ll have to say that this was the absolute best one! After leaving me in awe and speechless from his last set in the main room on July, 2009 I COULDN’T wait to see him again. That unexpected volcano ash completely ruined my excitement and due to his super busy schedule I honestly did not expect him to get re-booked soo fast at Guv. In a way, I think it worked out for the best because this time around he was on FIREEEE. He was jumping and smiling and was totally into the set, I could see him clearly from the back of the KH.
Gareth’s style is so unique and simple. He will mix just the right amount of vocals into banging bombs and into classics that will make your heart race 100 beats per second, make you put your hands in the air and sing along with a smile on your face, and put you back on the dancing and jumping mode for the entire duration of his set. He played everything I wanted and expected to hear and MOREEE from Exposure, Metropolis, to Denis Zahn – Stranger to Stability (Lan Faki Mix) just wooow, Ben Gold – Sapphire, SVD- Renegade, Suburban Train (Sean Tyas Remix), Velvetine feat. Aruna – Safe (Rank1 Remix), DT8 Project – Destination (A&B Remix) sooo amazing <3, On A Metropolis Day, This Is Silence and the list continues!!!
Since I’m a hugeee sucker for classic trance, Gareth completely blew me away when he played 3 of my all time faves that night:
GTR – MISTRAL!!!!!! What can I say about this AMAIZING 8 years old track. Top quality production that will stand its time decades and decades to come. I first requested this track for his July ’09 set and I was sooo thrilled that he actually played it then. Afterwards, he personally told me that he only plays this twice a year out of the gazillion gigs, so that set was indeed special. This time around I gave it a shot and dropped another request not really expecting him to actually play it out again!! I was in complete shock and in a state of total happiness, those who were around me know exactly what I’m talking about lol. I knew that this set was another special one and it totally exceeded my expectations <3
BINARY FINAY – 1998 (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Remix)!!!!! I always thought that I would probably never have the chance to hear this masterpiece in a club these days, and if I ever did it would have to be in Europe. But Gareth made Europe come to me that night by playing this absolutely beauty. I was happy he played the Morph Remix because this sounds the closest to the original one in my opinion. Truly an unforgettable moment for my ears and eyes <3
NENES & PASCAL FELIZ – PLATINUM!!!! This is another fave of mine that I’ve only witnessed Tiesto play it out. I was soooo surprised to hear Gareth drop this, he totally went outside of the box and completely surprised me. Amazing energy that kept building up and making me want more and more from Gareth <3
As for PVD, he was up and down for me. He started off really nice and lost me somewhere in the middle. However, it was great to hear him play his amazing classic tracks at the end of the set. For an Angel and Nothing But You will always have a special place in my heart <3
Verdict: Gareth's set is at the top 3 sets of the year so far from me. Somebody book him back ASAP!!! <3
