Lol at this thread!!!

Here is my opinion of the Night....and a few notes.
Take it how you want it.

1) I had an amazaing time. And I have seen Paul perform a Dozen of Times before. You Have to Remember Paul is not a Dj nor a producer
playing live Pa's in any regular Fashion. He basically does his
shows in a very uniquw fashion now.

2) YEs the Crowd was a little bit Interesting...But this is what happens when you have a mix of a Regular Crowd plus all the more commercial crowd that know him from his Movie.

3) Paul is Basically in the field of the Direction of someone like a Moby. His Tracks are vastly different in style Tempo and Range so
expecting the Flow of a dj set or someone that concentrates on Techhouse etc...is not gonna happen.

Thats Basically why its Paul Kalkbrenner live in Concert..for most
of his shows. Infact He hasnt played a show for less than 2000 people
in the last year...Its all concert Halls. Footwork was an exception
as a Makeup date.

4) This was Platforms record attendance at Footwork and and most
of the people that were there were going nuts the whole night.
Infact the whole night I was thinking that I havent seen footwork
go so crazy for an artist in a long time. So apperently some people liked it.

5) Paul was only supposed to play an hour and a half but ended up doing 3 encores...which resulted in the music stopping a few times.
The Music was never stopped during the main set...only at the end.

6) Some People Absolutely loved this show..some people hated it..and some people didnt understand it...But in the end most people had
lots of fun and this is all that matters.

C you all at the next one.

This is EXACTLY what we were discussing on Friday, Justin mentioned that too.

And although I loved La Mezcla last summer (although overplayed), hearing it on Friday did NOT enhance my musical experience.

Finally getting around to writing a review.

This was my first time at Footwork. I've heard many great things about this place over the years so my bf and I finally decided to check it out. After seeing the movie Berlin Calling, we thought it would be a good night to actually check out the club.

Things were not off to a good start from the get-go, having to wait in line almost an hour. Seriously?? There were like 10 people in front of us, how the can it take an hour to get 10 people inside the club??? We thought this better be worth it, since it must be packed inside, and not many people in the smoking area. We were almost ready to leave before we even got in the club.

Music-wise, Paul was OK. We really weren't feeling his vibe, and seemed to be more concerned about people paying attention to him, than him paying attention to the music. With all the stoppages in music, as mentioned, really really bugged me! The sound system was pretty good I'll give it that, but that's about it.

Now this being our first time there, I must say that is teh LAST time I step foot in that club! There are several reasons for this. Mostly due to the crowd that was there. NEVER have we been puched and bumped and blatantly elbowed by the crowd there, and not a single manner in the place! No I'm sorry's, no excuse me's, no nothing! There's been better crowds at the packed Koolhaus at Labor of Love and I thought that was bad. If these are the people that frequent this club, count me OUT! Worst crowd I've ever been a part of. Secondly, we found the bar staff to be very rude! The bartender short changed us once saying we gave them a $10 when we DID give them a $20, and got the worst service from then on making us rush our order, and them rolling their eyes when we were trying to decide between 2 drinks that we should order. When we couldn't decide right away, they went all the way back to the other end of the bar and we had to wait, AGAIN, for them to take everyone's drink orders before them came back to us again. HORRIBLE! I bartend myself, and the way we were treated at the bar was disgusting!

Never again will we go back to Footwork. As much as they bring in some good dj's... the crowd and staff was enough make us the place. :whip:

We were at capacity very early, and when that is the case we can't let anyone in, it becomes a 1-in/1-out situation, no matter how close you are to the door...

The crowd isn't usually like this at FW. I think this was a one-off.

If the bar is packed you should decide what you want before the bartender comes instead of holding up the whole bar.
