Come on, man. I like jungle a lot and I don't really listen to much jazz, but it's pretty obvious that jazzy drum 'n bass, or jazzy deep house, or nu-jazz or acid jazz are popped-up or clubbed-up dilutions of the real deal.

Those genres are not Jazz, they only use elements from Jazz, that is correct.
Its definitely not popped-up\clubbed-up, its good for home listening and i don't think that you can call atmospheric Drum and Bass 'pop' cuz its pretty underground\unpopular AFAIK.

Because it's "earlier, purer forms" began on street corners, brothels, vaudeville shows and large concert halls. Not clubs.
