I don't think they have much to say about this. Maybe they just can't muster up the right words to defend the IDF's actions.. So they just use pictures instead.
Anyways, here are a few well written articles I came across on BBC News (including articles which express the general Israeli perspective on this matter):
Yes all these articles are from the BBC.. but they're well-balanced in terms of conveying the reality of the current situation IMO.
Sorry I had to fix up a couple of dead links.. Abercrombie.. don't you get bored of using pictures as your response on most threads? I wouldn't mind reading your written opinion on this matter.

You're a joke!
You create threads only posting links to articles (or articles) ["bait"] with very little of your own contributed opinion or analysis and then comment on someone else choosing to partake in the same brevity (albeit via photographs)?
HA! HA! HA!

Ok. Thanks. Is there something wrong with informing people? I'm not here to argue.. Debating a serious matter with childish characters is something I got bored of quickly. I grew up with this struggle my whole life.. I most definitely have an opinion on it.. but I don't feel like sharing it in this thread. The purpose of this thread is to inform other TAs on the situation, and allow them to develop their own opinion.
You want my two cents.. here they are. Israel has violated countless international laws and I strongly believe that the international community should hold them accountable for their crimes. I'll just leave it at that. Short and simple. I feel no need to tell you more.
How is this 'bait'? Please enlighten me rabbitjoker. Contribute a little.. will you?

Dude, there is nothing wrong with informing people. I get where your head is at..a place I used to know well..thinking that people will see the light when faced with truth and facts. I have quickly realized that there are a fraction of people in this world that do not care about truth and allegiance is the name of the game. There is also another fraction that really just don't care..
Forget talking about this stuff on TA..not worth it..it's like banging your head up against a wall..Here, people go crazy about how dairy cows are abused but atrocities committed against 1.5 million human beings is unworthy of reflection..
It is what it is..:)
check out some Norman Finklestein videos on youtube..he is my hero.
ps. check ur pm.

In the U.S. if you dont support or attend a rally against Israel you will be questioned by FBI as if you are a terrorist.:o

Very true. It takes time for people to grasp and understand the complex nature and background of this conflict.. but one has to be patient and calm when it comes to informing others about it.. considering the sensitive nature of this issue.
Norman Finkelstein's great. I've seen plenty of his videos on youtube. A friend of mine was suggesting that reading 'This Time We Went Too Far' is a must. It's on my to-do list for this summer.
edit.. had to fix up a grammar error + wrong choice of words.

I had a rather long reply that I'll send to if you're *really* interested...but it's pointless to post it here.
the short version is that it's "bait" because those who agree with the position presented will be warmly received, while those who disagree will be shot down (not necessarily by you...but by others, for sure). it has been repeatedly demonstrated to be the case on TA that few here (on either side) are truly interested in (or capable of) logically debating the Palestinian-Israeli issues for various reasons.
if the intention was to post an interesting viewpoint, that's fine...but by the mere suggestion that you are "informing", the implication (IMHO) is that the position presented is a "correct" one and that remains very much unproven.
as for the article, it's an interesting read...but IMHO is a poorly written piece that lacks sufficient supporting evidence, employs intentionally inflammatory language/references, makes significant and sweeping assumptions/generalizations which all ultimately serve only to make it easier to dismiss the underlying argument being put forth.
(which appears to be that a people who were oppressed ought to be more cognizant of becoming oppressive, but instead parallel their previous oppressors in some ways as similarities are manifesting in their own mindset...something to that effect).

The reality of the situation in Israel is that it's a plague on both their houses. Palestinians and the rest of the Arab community do nothing for their cause in denying Israel's right to exist - in short: cut the !
The Israelis on the other hand have to stop this invocation of the holocaust as a free pass to do whatever they want and still present themselves as the victim. It's the same as black activists who use the "400 years of oppression" as an excuse for crime and violence in their community. In short: cut the !
A little cultural growth on both sides would go a long way to defusing a lot of the idiocy in the region.
