probably the same people who are afraid of v-neck shirts. |
I think you have your tee shirt collars confused.

when i was a teenager (without car)
I would wear the comfortable behind the head style headphones (buds are bad for sound quality and bad for your ears),
i switched to some cheap sony v300s for a bit, but found it was too much of a bother to have a place for them, so i switched back.
then, i got my license and never took the bus again. |

Still waiting to see someone explain why headphones make you "look like a douche." |
Because you look like you're trying to call attention to yourself, regardless of what your motives are in reality. The only way around it is to wear a T-shirt declaring your love of quality sound. Not on a v-neck though. Super gay. |

| Meh, when I see someone with big phones I just assume either that they don't own buds or that they prefer the sound of the big ones. |

| earbuds destroy your ears, really really bad. straight up sonic boom sound into your ears. i don't even wear earbuds when in public unless i'm on a plane/traveling long distances, i like to hear what is going on around me. plus, it's kind of annoying constantly updating an ipod, so it's used more for apps now. nothing against people who wear full size cans though |

I haven't updated my iPod in months because i filled up all 80 gb and my iTunes has 120 gb :(
And I have many more gigs of music on my computer that's just not in iTunes.
I really need to go through and only put albums, compilations, some really good/special sets, and a few EPs I love on it, and take all the other sets and EPs and singles that are on it off. |

I'm not a huge fan of earbuds though, because they always fall out when I'm walking or doing something at work. |

I bought these Shure e3c's a couple years ago. They've got great sound, have held up great, and never fall out. You can find them online for about $150, but if you're looking for something cheaper, the e2c is also pretty good, and available for about $100.

I hear you, I used to wear them too, but what you should realize is that you've got a better perspective on quality cans than most of the people on the street. If that doesn't matter to you, you've got nothing to worry about though. |

normally i use my earbuds since i like to hear a little bit of what's going on around me on the subway/streets and because they're more portable, but i'll carry my 7506's if i'm traveling or if i forget my earbuds.
you'd have to do a hell of a lot more than wear big headphones to draw attention to yourself on the streets of NY. no one cares. |
