It was Deadmau5 in August of 2008. It was my ex and a friend of his, who took an unopened water bottle outside. I recall the security claiming he was aggressive, but if you ever met Bong, you know he was the most mellow and least confrontational person you'd ever meet.
inferno
with a name like bong, how could you not be! :)

that really is unfortunate. i was not there for deadmau5, so i'm not sure how the crowd or the employees were that evening

Can definitely vouch for that. I don't think he ever even spoke to me. Just always smiled and nodded. lol

He definitely played those as well as Faithless - Not Going Home (Armin van Buuren Dub). I was pretty drunk but of these tracks i'm 100% certain.

Oh , he played the dub of Not Going Home? Nice! I definitely found myself trancing out at moments and getting into the music. Was really hard pulling out the phone to type this time around.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, does anyone have videos of the night (with good sound quality!)? I want to relive some of the moments of the night! Especially when he played the Cosmic Gate Remix of Home and Tenishia's version of Flesh.

I am curious though what exactly the exchange was though. Not trying to question this Hagen fellow, but it seems like we aren't hearing the whole story. He never explained how things went down. I mean, was he just chilling and all of a sudden was grabbed and taken down?

That really is how it went down, I respect your unbiased opinion but in reality this crap happened so unprovoked it could have been Markus Schulz himself and the bouncers would not have listened or cared.

That combined with the fact LeeAnn, myself and Amber all saw the same thing should tell you something is extremely wrong with the way Hagen was treated.

Remember, this is a guy who cared about our music so much that with my help just released a bunch of videos that are vital to the electronic music history of Atlanta and beyond. He also dumped countless dollars throwing parties so people like us who cared about the music would have a good time. He always tried to take the "club" out of his events and turned even the "swankiest" of places in to an environment we could enjoy. If you remember the events he threw at the Riviera and Level 3 then you would know what I mean, it was always a good time.

Sucks to hear that, Hagen is definitely a cool guy. He hooked us up big time when I won a contest with VIP when he brought the Ministry of Sound Tour years ago to Level 3. I haven't been to Opera since the Eleven50 days, and it doesn't sound like the place I'd go...

I've also had the best of times at all of Devin's parties over the past 10 + years....unfortunate incident. Hope it works out for all parties involved.

Hagen doesn't have glasses does he? I forgot his name, but I met a guy hanging out with Lee Ann and some other TAs and I'm curious if that was him? I certainly wouldn't side with OPera on anything, but I just try to look at both sides. That is crazy to think that he did nothing at all. I would have thought there were at least some harsh words exchanged or something. As I said, I've just never seen any real meanness from any of the staff. A couple rude bartenders and such, but not to the extent everyone talks about. As I said though, doesn't mean I like Opera. Wish there was a better place to have these events.

no, the guy next to me was my friend brandon and his girlfriend randi. also my co-worker mark and his date chad were standing there. hagen was in back stage and that's why i disappeared for about 15 mins into the beginning of the set. honestly i'll say this and i'm not trying to be mean, but you don't know him (hagen). you can believe what you want to believe, but i saw what i saw and it was some bull. go look up opera on google. you'll find many more bad reviews and other bad experiences people have had. if your down with that, cool keep going to opera, but it's something i'm not down with and i won't be going back. no way, no how and if this puts me into clubbing retirement so be it.

Ok, just curious. Wish I knew the guy cause he sounds like a cool dude. I really hope I don't come across as defending Opera. All I was saying was that is just unreal to think someone got attacked for doing nothing. I guess after Maggie's experience at Wetbar, I should know better. I also don't mean to question anyone's honesty. Just one of those things that seems too bad to believe you know. My only point was, I have never been mistreated. Maybe it's because I am mild mannered, as those who have met me will know. That is not to say that I haven't seen the smugness of staff there and think it's wrong. If I had to deal with the club crowd all day, I'd probably become a jerk too though.

Yea... it's hard for me to hold back "at least he didn't go to jail, spend over $1,500 on attorneys, and have to reapply for a citizenship ($675)that was denied in the process of all that bs", but you've all heard it from me before...

Honestly though, I've come to realize that if I boycotted every club or lounge that treated me bad at some point or another, I wouldn't have anywhere else to go. Opera staff had seemingly become more considerate in the last months, I'm disappointed to hear of this... but I'll probably still go from time to time.
Ted Promo
Maybe (and there's a good chance this is just the maybes talking, although I personally doubt this) if you are getting kicked out, incurring trouble at, or otherwise experiencing trouble at a plethora of lounges/clubs it may very well be the way you are acting and reacting to things, and not the establishment's fault.

But nah, no possible way that could be it.

Caution_BiPolar
I guess you should tell that to whoever this Hagen fellow is, cause I've yet to be ejected from any club.
Ted Promo
I'm not talking about just getting kicked out although that's included. You just seem to allude to a multitude of problems at many different venues that "treat you badly". This has been addressed before, but I'm merely restating the relative obvious that it could probably be you or the people you choose to surround yourself with that cause these problems. I've had hardly any truly bad experiences at venues in Atlanta and I've been to many of them.

Or maybe you're just really nitpicky. I'm just expressing doubt.
