just to let you know. Hagen has been to more clubs and more club nights than anyone could ever dream about. I can probably count 40 that I know about or went to him with last year alone. Combined with the fact he has been going out since the mid 1990's I think it's safe to say his number is quite large. With all the clubs in all the continents, countries, states, teritories he has been to, he has never had an issue...... Ever, until last week. I think that's pretty amazing to have no issues even in a club where he does not speak the native language.
It's pretty safe to say he has a great track record with going out to night clubs and similar night life establishments.
I think I read earlier in this post you were making out with someone most of the night. Trust me when I say that would deffinitely earn you a one way ticket to being ejected in some of the clubs Hagen and I have been to. I know some states have laws against PDA (I think it falls under lude conduct) that clubs must enforce mildly to keep their liqour license and the doors open. |

| Ted, I think you have a couple good points, but are using them in the wrong way. The way people act and react to things may be the problems, not the establishments fault. Does that mean you think this may not be all Opera's fault? I see what you were trying to do, but Maggie hasn't done anything everyone on this forum isn't doing right now. No one likes Opera, that has been established, but as she said if we boycott every club that does something wrong, we'd have no place to go. I just find it funny that it's ok to attack Maggie for complaining, then attack me for expressing doubt in Hagen's story, but saying it's ok to doubt Maggie's stories. I have yet to meet her, but she's been posting ever since I joined this forum and she seems to be one of the few members with her head on straight sometimes. It seems like people always want to gang up on people they disagree with. You are sitting here doubting Maggie's stories, yet I got attacked not too long ago for questioning what happened with Hagen. Why the double standard? From what I hear, Hagen seems like a fine fellow, but, I do remember reading something about his girlfriend mouthing off to some other girl. Maybe this was some kind of chain reaction. Maybe Hagen wasn't swinging punches, but it's really hard to believe he didn't get involved at all. Maybe it was one of those situations where he tried to step in and was taken as being aggressive. Either way, that goes with Ted's statement of, "it could probably be you or the people you choose to surround yourself with that cause these problems." If not Hagen, maybe it was his girlfriend that got him in trouble. |

Oh, I'm not saying it's a gooood excuse for the venues and staff to treat her like (assuming she's not talking drunk-induced against these places); I'm saying it's to be expected. If you act like a sloppy imbecile just expect bad things in return.
I mean, maybe I'm wrong in my assumptions. Maybe she just really has THAT bad of luck/karma. Or maybe she likes to aggrandize and expound upon menial problems that most people overlook.
Or she could just be that sloppy and annoying when she's at these places. |

I'll admit I have a high standard of expectations when I pay $$$ to enter a venue. Other than the Wetbar thing, and maybe a few other instances here and there, I haven't experienced anything other than, say, rude bar staff or security. That being said, I'm going to be unhappy at things like... telling me I can't use a certain bathroom when it's not closed off or marked, telling me I have to open a $20 tab to get a cup of ice, and things of that nature... I really just wish a place would open that would treat everyone courteously without wanting to rape everyone's wallet.
I could notice a lot of these things because 90% of the time I'm more sober than anyone around me. I've been DD most nights going on 4 years, so I'm a lot more aware of things happening around me. And yea, I can get moody lost in a sea of obnoxious drunkards and trying to be the one respectful person said staff member is dealing with, yet being treated just as the out of control crowd around me. Kinda makes me think being respectful isn't worth the trouble =P
As far as making out... I don't get the big deal. I was kissing the guy, I wasn't dry humping him on the floor =P |

So then you're just nitpicky and like to exaggerate (either the actuality or the importance of) things.
Fair enough. |

| The importance of, highly likely. |

Yea, Bong was in no way involved with this Wetbar incident, other than just standing there with a WTF look on his face. Funny, he gets arrested for doing nothing, and I start going off at one of the guards, asking why the Hell they're getting arrested (one of my 10% of inebriated nights ;)) and they just tell me to sit down and shut up. |

Yeah, so in reality, it is possible that just being with someone who is "in trouble" could get you in trouble. As I said, maybe that's what happened with Hagen and his girlfriend. Hagen might have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wish we knew more about what his girlfriend was involved in. I do my best not to make anyone angry at any concert or event because when you get alcohol and mean bouncers involved, it never turns out well. |

| I'm looking over the event details for this BS I agreed to go to Friday and can almost guarantee I'm gonna have plenty to bitch about Havana Club. $25 at the door for a DJ I've never heard of... maybe I should just cancel and save myself and everyone else the drama of my sincere disappointment :) |

See, thats just it. You, me and everyone else thinks of simply kissing as something that is not a big deal. None the less to some clubs it is a big deal. At some clubs you can be kicked out for something as small as constant kissing.
My point is to show you how easy it is to in fact get kicked out of a club. I think we all know someone that has been booted for some kind of crazy reason.
It still does not give a club the right to do anything else besides show you the way out. |
