I've heard they are pretty open sexually too.

I'm a 'Brisbanite' :p

Yeah, it would sound strange. For me, 'dance' almost rhymes with 'pants'. Like this:

Here we go:

Hah, weird. It's funny that most people around here can't tell the difference between "ail" and "isle" in Australian English, so they often tell jokes about Australians like:

"Excuse me, nurse, my pain is getting worse and worse. Please do something, did I come here to die?"
"No, mister Minogue, you came here yesterday"

:p

Haha Danish is extremely varied all over the country; Someone from Copenhagen sounds completely different from someone who lives in KalundBorg two hours west. Also, funny you call the Copenhagen dialect bourgeois, when everyone in Denmark thinks they sound ghetto :p (or where I come from they did)

Well, the only person I "know" from Copenhagen died 155 years ago, so maybe that's why :p

I tried to see what Danish is like and I'm a bit puzzled: How's your English when you're not drunk? This is the best I could come up with:

1) Can you make the distinction between "fast" and "vast"?
2) How about "vest" and "west"?
3) Do "Saviour" and "Xavier" sound the same?

I don't know how thick (or not thick) your accent is, though... what do people usually tell you? For how long have you been in the US of A?

Each of the 5 boroughs here has a distinct accent, and there are even accents within different sections of the same borough. Harlem accent is way different from the standard Manhattan accent. Bronx, Brooklyn & Staten Island are the easiest to pick out. I'd say the Manhattan & Queens accents are the most neutral, though I may be biased being from Manhattan.

My family all moved to Georgia some years ago, and all picked up southern accents of some sort, esp my 4 younger brothers, I can't stand it! At least I haven't heard any of them pronounce the 'h' in "white" yet. That's a silent 'h' damn it :whip: :p

Danish language is Swedish language with potatoes in the mouth. Sometimes a potato slides in the wrong part of the mouth giving the whole speaking an altered sound. That's what they call accents.

It is the ugliest language on the planet. Period.

Sad thing is that is the truth.

Do yourselves a favour and learn Chinese. They are gonna take over the world.

Dutch is far far far more disgusting sounding than Danish. Dutch is like germans vomiting out their nose while talking.

Do me! I want to confirm my non-regional diction.
