How would having a tag around an nsfw image be misused if the user has the option of showing all nsfw tags (i.e. things would remain exactly the same as now) ? |

First, misuse. There would be debate about what does/doesn't necessitate such tags. There would also be people who forget or 'forget' to use it.
Second, you'd have to toggle it on/off depending on where you are.
Third, it changes the nature of the site. Where, now, it's generally not allowed (though some tagged threads seem to survive due to some unknown complexity or ambiguity in the rules, I suppose), adding the option suddenly opens it up as a nsfw site that you can kinda clean up. |

Because, right now, nsfw images, generally, aren't posted. |

They are actually...we have a couple of NSFW threads in the Toronto forum with hundreds of thousands of views. I guess what you're getting at is containing that within a specific thread rather than spreading NSFW content to other threads -- in which case I can see that being a problem. The 'control' of a tag might actually make it worse... |

correct. If you just want to make a toggle for NSFW threads that's one thing, but making a NSFW toggle for content strewn across the whole site would turn into a mess. |
