And why did I never venture to the vintage wine section of the LCBO before this year? Gosh!

The Wine Rack has this new brand call Wallaroo which is a blend of Canadian and Australian. Comes in a chardonnay and a Shiraz (sp?)

Im also a big fan of Naked Grape.

I also have my own wine made. I drink so much I have to. My Girl and I go through a few bottles a week at least. ;)

The pricing's really not as bad as I thought in there... as long as your not looking in the locked cabinets that is.

Ontario wine is pretty great too (want to try this next http://lcbo.ca/lcbo-ear/lcbo/produc...emNumber=529354)

The Pelee Island Riesling is on my list of 'next wines to try'. Let me know what you think of the Rose.

I like Black Tower and other german white wines.

Black Tower Riesling is really good... and REALLY sweet. Not something I could drink on a regular basis but a nice wine to change things up from time to time. Plus the bottles are awesome :)

-If you like German wines, you will probably like Upstate New York wines as well. They have similar climates and hilly areas, which are both perfect for Reislings, Gewerz, and Gruner Veltliner's. Upstate NYS has won many international awards for their Dry and Semi-dry Reislings (not as dry as the description might tell you), so if you like Germans, you are lucky enough to have some award winners in your backyard ;)

I never thought about trying NY wines... but I guess they would have similar growing conditions as Ontario... Any recommendations?

P.S. Tara, I would highly recommend checking out Jordan, Ontario where Cave Springs has their winery. It's such a cute little quaint town to spend the weekend, have a wonderful dinner, wine tour and get massages!

It's on my list of places I REALLY want to go :)

I really want to try some. I think I would like it since I enjoy sweet wines... but then again there is always 'too sweet' Ontario ice wines are some of the best in the world.

I know! I discovered it this summer. And most bottles are only a few extra dollars from what I would normally spend. Wine shopping just got sooooo much more fun :D

Some is really good, others not so much. Remember, it's a desert wine, you don't want much, best with cheeses. Try Inniskillin's Videl based (2007 was especially good if you can find it).

Ontario probably does Riesling better then any other variety... try Chateau des Charmes.
