Hey I have no problem with the gays...

Like I said before, I probably have more gay friends then Karlo does...

But to say he's not gay??? Ha!!

If he's straight, then I'm black...

But anyway, I digress...

I'm tired of you lot...

I am 100% in favour of people being in control of their lives.

This includes whether to continue living it or not.

If there were procedures in place where assisted suicide was an option I would be all for it.

This goes for anyone but especially the terminally ill.

If there was a system in place it would engage all who would be affected by it and could provide closure that full out suicide does not. This doesn't mean it is the first step.. counselling would and should be a very big part of this.

It is all viewed as such a negative but maybe it shouldn't be.

Who are we to judge what other people go through... just saying.

there are many times that patients are incapacitated for whatever reason and someone else is making the care decisions for them.

I'm interested to hear people's opinions on this.

I'm not sure what I think yet in these circumstances. My opinions up til now have all dealt with people who have at least some capability of doing counseling on their own.

yeah. i think that is why it is very important to talk about these kinds of things with the people that will be making those decisions. if you are capable now, it's something that you should think about yourself. like if you got a stroke today, would someone know what your wishes were?

It's definitely a great idea to make sure your family and loved ones know what you'd like to happen. But I also think that there's so many different situations that could arise that it'd be hard to list them all.

Also, what about people who cannot communicate from birth. They don't even have a chance to talk about what they'd like to do.

I think the patient needs to consciously make the decision at the time that the decision needs to be made...

So you think all of the people who are vegetables, who want to die, but can't tell anyone should continue to suffer?
