ATTENTION RESIDENTS, EMPLOYEES AND FUN SEEKERS ALIKE!
MOST NIGHTLIFE AS WE KNOW IT IN TORONTO IS NOW ILLEGAL!
Toronto council has recently voted in a new amalgamated bylaw that bans restaurant rooftop and back patios. It also bans multiple room venues and and all restaurants and bars must be on street level only. The size of a venue is also severely restricted in this new bylaw.
The Hospitality Industry is vital to Toronto as it creates jobs, attracts tourism, and offers variety and vibrancy to the residents of our city!
Think about your favourite restaurant, eatery or nightlife venue for a moment. Would they be allowed under this new law???
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
You’re Invited!
All Candidates Debate: TONIGHT Monday October 18, 7-9:30pm
Trinity-St.Paul’s Centre (427 Bloor Street West)
Come support Ward 20 council candidate MIKE YEN who advocates policies that balance the needs of residents and businesses alike. Unlike Adam Vaughan, MIKE YEN will fight to keep Toronto diverse and inclusive of everyone's needs!
THIS IS A CITY WIDE BYLAW, NOT JUST CONTAINED TO WARD 20. PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT MIKE YEN AS HE FIGHTS FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR CITY!
PLEASE INBOX ME IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS! |

Have you seen the bylaws?
This is FACT not fiction. The laws have been passed. They are public record.
Why not try supporting something that is in all of our best interests? |

| Because I find most of the current clubbing experience in this city to be pretty loathsome, to be perfectly honest. |

I would have to agree with that....but I think it has more to do with my age then the actual clubbing |

and you know what? you can blame city council and their laws for this as well. It actually all started with chief fantino about 10 years ago.
Why arent cool new venues being allowed? Because the city wont let them.
And with these new laws things are about to get much worse. |

They destroyed what was one of the best rave movements in the 90's. I feel really bad for those that missed out or were simply not old enough at the time to experience it before they pulled a number on it.
There is no comparison what so ever to what is offered now to back then and it's only going to get even worse. |

Restrictive laws tend to push creative boundaries. |

| all these by-laws are just going to help revitalize the underground party....which overall isn't a bad thing in my opinion. |
