How about you spoon-feed me some more of that delicious hypocrisy.

I often avoid to enter this sort of discussion with my religious friends because I know they aren't likely to change their minds unless they're willing to doubt their own beliefs.

Linguistically speaking, the bible has some outrageous claims, the Tower of Babel being my favourite bit of language nonsense in the Good Book. I had always imagined that, as a student of linguistics, she'd pick the contradictions up. However, when we mentioned the myth one day, she talked as if that had actually happened. God as an omniscient being and being bothered about us playing Lego (because we all spoke the same language, at that) is one of the greatest contradictions I can think of.

well dude... it's the hypocrisy. it gets to me sometimes. all the "political savants" on here love to bash the tea party people for being full of ignorant lilly-white crackers who are "reeeeally" protesting because the president is black. Keith Olberdouche and all the media hacks painted this bull picture to no end, and like dutiful Obamabots, morons like Nou would lap it up and froth at the mouth about stupid racist extremist whitey wanting to keep a black man down. So, at Stewart's rally you had basically a 99% white hipster crowd who are the "anti tea party"... yet not a hint of racism talk. Hence the point of posting that picture.

dude it goes both ways, on both sides, with the far left and the far right. there's ignorance everywhere from everyone. this particular thread just felt like grasping for air though.

let's face it though, both sides blow minor (and sometimes major) issues and situations out of proportion to sling as much as possible at the other side. it's in sickening that the citizen has to wade through the to get even the smallest semblance of truth in the media.

Can't say I disagree with that man. Media today clearly tries to shape the news, not report it. Templates, collaborative efforts with press secretaries and political spin doctors prior to "stories" being released... it's maddening.

To be perfectly honest, both sides of the political spectrum are at the moment. I'm of the opinion that a party driven political system in general is simply detrimental, I mean, the current climate within the US government/media is pretty much a perfect example.

Politics is no longer about enacting policies and programs to help people and the country through life, it's about slinging enough at the other side to "win". The media is no longer about keeping the public informed as to what's actually happening, it's about manipulating the public in order to influence their decisions and viewpoints.

You're only making my point more clear. When your lot posts videos of tea party people speaking at rallies, they are from one-sided partisan websites/interviewers. You can't even recognize when your own hypocrisy is spoon fed to you.

So once again, rather than rise above deplorable debate tactics you're happy to sling the back like a monkey and then complain when the other side calls foul.

Two party politics epitomised by one wanker.

"rising above" it- that's just pretend gentleman-speak. People on here vent their thoughts/frustrations and call others out. I don't have anything to prove and I'm not an elected official so I'll keep slinging rather than turn the other cheek.

What's better... 10 +/- political parties like you have in England where the winner represents 23% of the voters? lol.

I don't think you have to tell him about venting his frustrations :p
