Igloofest 2011 (pg. 12)

The visual set-up is outstanding, the sound was very good, the complete organisation is just A1. This is a real world class event that reminds me of the days of 514 Productions. I can't say enough how I respect an organisation that can pull off such a nice event.

And Igloofest proves that you don't have to sell out to commercial to bring the kids out. The place was packed, easily 5,000 people in there. The crowd is totally into partying.

As far as music goes, I got in at 9:00 so didn't catch Green & Lateez's set.

I thought Minicoolboyz were actually quite bad. The flow was all over the place, tracks didn't go well together, the energy was going up and down, going from bumping tech house to almost deep trance, cheezy time effects... not impressed and no need to be 2 guys to play like that.

Enjoyed Anje Schneider more, the flow was more consistent. Still, some below average mixes here and there. First 45 min was nothing out of this world, but music got better by the end.

So awesome set-up, very average performances, can't wait to go back and catch Carl Craig, DVS1 and Akufen

I very much enjoyed Anja Schneider, one of my favorite sets I've seen at Igloofest. Her set was just vibing so nicely.. I haven't seen the crowd so into it since Modeselektor a few years ago. She definitely knows how to pick nice vocal samples and chop em up, she dropped some classics, very good party last night..

And yeah her VJ was outstanding last night.

It's easy to put all the efforts on the visuals when you don't have a rent nor heat to pay :p

I really love this Festival. Never heard of anything like it anywhere else...maybe some events in Europe on top of ski mountains but nothing like this really. It's definitely unique and I greatly admire the team for putting this together and improving every year! Really professional.
This year's set-up is the best so far!

LED panels = great addition to the visual set-up!! Sound was A1! The dome, ice village...just wow!

Had a great time last night. Seems that because it was on Friday and because the DJs were not ''Big Names'' the crowd was ok, not as stupid as previous years (Guy Gerber, James Holden, etc etc). We were not at 8000 (probably more like 5000). Awesome vibe, more and more tourists (Europe and South America, Canada, US) and our own montreal dancers going strong (some damn good dancers) and beautiful girls smiling all over the place. Igloofest seems trendier than ever!

I cannot help but smile when I see the younger ones, new to the scene, dance on this kind of music. As Martin said, you don't need to book trance or commercial DJs to attract the masses. Montreal wants quality stuff and a good party!

See you next weekend!

Beautiful and also rude. Last night two tiny ****s push through not saying and my friend pushes them and they freak, man I should have back-handed them.

What was funny, there was some guy walking around with jean shorts!!!  Honestly thats just messed up.

One thing... its still not cold enough :( I want the good old days of igloofest with -40 w/windchill! Now thats fun.
