Definitely didn't see this coming 5 years ago at Piknic des Neiges... what was a cozy 100 person dance party now has 5x that amount just standing in line trying to buy tickets heh. :p |

| The size of the crowd really was out of control. It would be great if they moved the location next year to somewhere more removed so that people couldn't just walk to it. There are enough people who really want to go who will put in the effort, and it would cut down the lazy drunks who are just dragging it down for the rest of us. If it keeps going at the momentum they have, it will outgrow their current space, and the city will start coming down on them. |

I left at 10:30 so I didn't see it full full full.. you guys do realize the sound is just as good right next to the twitter board as when you're up close to the stage right? Although I think one or both of those speakers weren't working at some points, most of the time I didn't bother pushing my way thru the crowd to get to the front too much this year, we'd hang out right in the middle where there's more space to dance and socialize. Remember, it was the last night of Igloofest and it was only -5, saturday night? No kidding it was rammed.
And how can you possiby get a better venue then this? It's absolutely perfect for Igloofest. The lighting is amazing. I wouldn't have it any other way. All in all, huge success this year. The music was amazing, ended up there 6 nights out of 9. My top 5 sets:
1. Kollektiv Turmstrasse
2. Anja Schneider
3. Carl Craig
4. Seth Troxler
5. Stanton Warriors |

| Had it been 10 degrees colder, it would have been perfect and kept all the casual idiot crowd surfers home. I pulled a couple of the crowd surfers down and people got mad at me. I told the 15 yr old hippy to go to a punk show instead, idiot!! |

haha, the first Friday i saw a crowd surfer coming straight for me but luckily it wasn't that packed so i just took 2 step backs and he fell right on his ass. :) |

I got myself a pass and went four times this year: 14, 15, 21, and 29. The first two times were great, though I don't remember much about the DJs, except that I didn't like the one that was on before Stanton Warriors, at least, not the end of his set. I absolutely LOVED Andrew Weatherall's set on the 21st. I wanted to go on the 22nd for Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts, but wasn't able to. The 29th was eh to alright.
I don't mind the lines (huge lie - almost went crazy on the 21st), but I do mind the aggressive crowd. What's with the pushing and crowd surfing? Pardon the pun, but chill the out!
Anyways, totally going back next year! |
