I used one in class yesterday with the attached keyboard and I can tell you that the only awesome thing about it was that it fit in the smallest compartment of my bag.
It was ing awesome to have such a light bag last night.
That's where the fun ends for me.
It's completely unintuitive and takes a ridiculous amount of time connecting to whatever wireless signal is farting around.
I have never used an iPhone for more than 10 minutes so I'm not very familiar with all the touching and dragging and apps, but I like to think that I catch on rather quickly when it comes to new technologies and it just wasn't working for me.
The case I had on it allowed me to fold it up into a nice little self-supported triangle for note-taking.
But don't try to do anything to it when it's in that form, as it will fall over
You need to support it from behind with one hand... not ideal.
I had no idea how to save my notes after lecture was done (searched for about 10 minutes and asked friends for help :stongue: lol noobs much?) ... but I had the option of emailing them to myself which was cool ??? Who the knows
Cor version: Using the iPad last night was painful and annoying. Like learning Word 2007 when it first came out *shudders* Or dealing with a fragile laptop that doesn't do what you expect it to.

Well you could always use it as a coaster or something. That i guess is something its good as, otherwise i cant really see how it could be useful :p

Just be thankful that you didnt need to do any multitasking with it or the damn thing would be flying out of the window immediately.

you can just about forget the ipad
and now that you saw that
you'll probably end up copping the ipad 4Gs version 2.17 which is the same exact thing as the ipad just with a white back cover for $900usd, that's the audience they attract.

I totally don't enjoy touching the screen of anything.
It irks me and I'll never like it.

Anything worthwhile for Live, aside from touchosc? Is that useable?

I've never been one to get into Apple products. The only thing I have is an Ipod (which is pretty ty considering once the battery is done, the whole things is done and you have to buy a new one), but outside of that, I don't find their products to be all that great. I don't like Macs (things aren't compatible with it, the layout is weird, I don't find it intuitive), the Iphone is stupid expensive (and seems excessive to me), and the Ipad strikes me as a worthless, crappy spin off of a laptop, which is a much better alternative (Read: Ania's experience).
I just think there are a bunch of Apple fanboys/girls out there who get suckered into the marketing and end up paying out of the ass for mediocre products.
In the meantime, I will continue being cheap and stick with the products I know work with the things I use, are easy and simple, and don't cost me my first born child. :)

I don't think anyone has made such an observation before.

errmm, you have to throw away your ipod? there are ways to replace the battery yourself. and they're really cheap if you know the right place to buy them. i never understood how people have problems with their ipods. i have a touch that i've had for 2 years, works awesome, battery stays alive like it did in the beginning. i have an old 20gb 3rd generation ipod i've had for a really really long time that still works fine and keeps a charge a long time

seriously. I've never been a fan of Macs, or anything Apple (again, I don't own anything else of theirs, for that reason), but the idea that an iPod is just a disposable accessory is about as logical as providing parac--never mind.
some of you are just not good with computer.
Back to the topic (which, I'll remind you, is not whether I should buy an iPad).
