Horrible news.
My deepest condolences, Marcus. :(
I've dealt with the death of three loved ones in the past year alone. It is never easy, particularly when it's violent and unexpected. The shock is brutal, it's all too surreal, all too painful and all too unfair, but it gets easier..
The only advice I can give you and which has helped me personally is this:
You are in shock and denial at the moment, and it will probably be a while before you can cry, but when and if you can cry, do so freely, and as often and as intensely as you feel the need. It is liberating.
Talk about it if you need to... I personally deal with my pain on my own, I "speak to them" even though I know they can't hear me, but it helps.. I write letters, paint or draw my emotions, sing about it.. these are healthy ways to release built-up tension, I find.
Booze is a quick fix and it's always tempting but in my experience it clouds thinking and slows down your mourning process.
Time is your best friend, the pain/denial/confusion/anger is unbearable at first, but it will lessen... In truth, I don't think anyone quite recovers from the death of someone close. Ultimately, you will heal and learn how to live with their absence.
We are here for you. :) |

| hang in there. If you knew any of her other friends, maybe you can help each other get through this. Try to be there for each other. |

Even to this day in regards to cases like 'these'.. the selfishness of humanity bewilders me down to a stupefied state of utter disbelief.

My fiancée said she always got a creepy psychopath vibe from him, but I reckoned he was just the introverted type, and I've never heard about any suspicion that there was any sign of violence in their relationship. And she was part of a very tightly knit community so should anything violent happen to her, I like to believe someone would pick it up and do something about it... though she did apparently drift away a bit from her friends ever since she started dating this bloke. So, no, there was nothing that could've predicted this, apparently and, most likely, the boyfriend lost it at the heat of the moment. Besides, we usually think that older people are more mature, though I've been taught by life that is by no means a reliable correlation.
And Selma, I'm still just stunned. I haven't cried for years, and I don't think it's going to happen today... still, I'm going to her funeral now with some mates and I'll try to make sense of it all.
Once again, thanks for the support. I'll keep you guys updated. |
