Didn't MTV (or someone) have a huge venue on that same location 2 years ago, the week before WMC? |

theyve had numerous things over the years. but yes i believe last year mtv was there for a pepsi super bowl thing with nelly furtado or something. i vaguely remember being upset because i could hear "fly like a bird" even through my closed windows. was annoying.
this being on south beach may be why this ends at 11pm now and no longer midnight. |

I should have remembered that about beach events. I was leaning more towards the old Halloween venue. This is great news though. My hotel is at 14th and Ocean
we shall name this event "Swedish house mafia beach fest" |

| I was talking to a buddy of mine and kinda guessed the location :D ... few hours later I get a text about the announcement. It makes sense. Ultra held about 10,000 peeps @ the beach, only reason was the growth of the fest. SHM @ The beach it's a win in my eyes..great location, vibe will be great too. I wonder how much of an impact this is or will have on Ultra if any on Saturday. |

I'm curious,
1) how many people do you think will be in attendance?
2) What do you think the venue will look like? I am envisioning a tent similar to the setup of the Ultra Carl Cox and Friends Stage or Monster Massive in LA.
Any thoughts? |

If they moved it outside, it's obviously going to be PACKED!
And the production will BLOW away any production that MM has ever done. When I saw them in Vegas, the production was better then anything else I have seen... |

My question is how do they bring that same level of production when the sun is out...lazers, lights, smoke don't quite have the same effect with sunlight. Having said that...this will be an epic production; i'm just curious how they'll pull it off!

its a "custom built arena" so the sun wont be shinning on you unless you step outside. |

Probably not much of one. Compared with the caliber of some of the artists spinning at Ultra, SHM is a joke. What's the over under on how many times you'll hear "One" at that party? I'm guessing at least 10.
SHM is the new Deadmau5. The only people who like their music are either 18 years old or have never listened to electronic music before. As individuals, Axwell and SI are decent, but as a group, they just ooze David Guetta-esque sell out garbage. |

I definitely dont fit into that category. There are some of us that "go for the party"........... the vibe that they bring along with the productions that they require makes it a fun event to go to. Its a rush, nothing more, nothing less but worth checking out for the experience.
But yes, when all three are together there music sounds like guetta and deadmau5's worst track selection possible
edit: all before 5pm tickets are sold out, only all day tickets are left. |

I Agree. I saw them first back when they were still on the rise. I liked them until they reached the level they've hit now. I wouldn't have planned on attending this party, other than been the better alternative to Ultra, and the production they put together is pretty good. Now this been on the beach makes it all the better.
You know what's gonna be a nightmare ??
PARKING. Parking alone on a WMC or UMF weekend alone is ridiculous, your lucky if you find a garage. Bring in a couple of thousand people into it. That will be fun heh. |

i disagree with a few of those comments. i think they've definitely brought some cheese to the table in the last year, but i've seen them a few times and they've always banged it out.
anyways, rather than turn this into an argument thread, all i'll say is this:
i go to parties to have a good time and for my friends to have a good time. all my friends have different tastes, but when we check out SHM - EVERYONE has a blast. and to me that's what EDM is all about.
the fact that they might play "louder than words" doesn't change the fact that it'll be a blasty blast. we're all very excited for this one  |
