lol, that's not what I meant. Azari & III and Crystal Castles are hardly underground.
Crystal Castles I have heard of and now I have heard of Azari and III. :)

Bottle service may not be your thing, and it's not mine, but how many clubs do you know can pay the staff, rent, expenses etc with the energy and a great party? Are they going to go to their banks and landlord and say, "well we didn't make enough to cover expenses, but I had a great party with people that danced their ass off".
I'm not for bottle service, and we in the scene may look down on it, but the way we party ain't the greatest either...think about it...

Too many ppl still have a hard time in believing that a nightclub is a business first and foremost with profit the primary driver...

The people getting bottle service are the same people who were probably spending just as much...if not more in drinks before bottle service became the thing to do. I would like to see what kind of increase there really is...if any.

Every club owner loves bottle service for the simple fact that they know they have a prepaid amount already sold before the night starts. If I have ten booths booked at say $500 per booth, I know I already have $5000 before I've even opened my doors for the night.

but its not $5000.00 more then you would have made if you didn't have bottle service. It would be interesting to see how much of an increase...if any...there is in profits due to bottle service.

hard to disagree with this, breaking the fourth wall was one of my favourite albums of the year. this guy epitomizes upfront electronic music. I wouldn't even know how to describe some of the stuff this guy puts out...it's clearly electronic, yet has an mistakable warmth to it....he's taken clever producing to a whole new level.

LOL no kidding, club owners make money off bottle service??
Good stuff, but I've never known some dudes making money off something to be a valid reason for others not to hate on it... Under those lines the war in Iraq is 100% legit, cause the Bush's made money off it. =)

Again I'm not saying it's a good thing...
I'm just saying that's why they do it...

I skimmed the article...
Didn't see Arnej mentioned anywhere(might have missed it). I may be wrong but I'm sure hes probably bigger internationally then anyone mentioned in the article.

The article really isn't about who is big internationally.

I know its not the main focus but it went into who was doing well internationally and listed a couple dj's who were doing well. Just thought Arnej deserved some sort of mention if you going to talk about electronic music as a whole in Toronto, no?
