Actually it wasn't for Stereo for quite a long time. Of course, they were also in debt pretty much from the day they opened their doors. For the time Morales owned his share of it, his philosophy was "as long as it's breaking even I'm happy".
They have taken a new approach with Stereo 2.0, and are much more business savvy now though.

The author, Denise Benson, has been working in the Toronto party/club scene for over 20 years, and has been writing for the Eye Weekly for more than 10 years giving her "Best Bets" of club nights on weekly basis.
She isn't just "someone who goes to Footwork regularly". She has extensive knowledge about many different types of music, scenes, crowds and venues, and is arguably one of the most, if not the most important person in dance music journalism in Toronto.
Whenever I'm looking for a new place/scene to check out, Denise Benson is always a solid source of new information and ideas.

i'm not saying every business isnt about making money, sure it is, and thats pretty obvious. even squeegee kids are in their line of work for a reason.
That doesnt mean I have to give them $20 to dirty up my windshield. they still make money with my $2 contribution (if that)
There's making money, then there is greed. I think footwork is clearly NOT greedy, and people dig that.
Other clubs? i'm not so sure.

Guys all we're saying is it can easily detract from a good vibe and atmosphere having too much bottle service around... Completely understand that it's not going to leave all clubs anytime soon and was just pointing out there's other ways to make money and be successful without it.
Furthermore here's a couple other things people invest money in and expect a return on and therefore are legit:
-Child prostitution/trafficking
-Illegitimate wars
-Meth labs
-Fraud rings
-Those Youtube ads that pop up before videos now (saved the worst for last)

you made some sense in your initial paragraph..then you have your attempt to compare a legit business (clubs) to meth labs:crazy:

Footwork is by far the best club in Toronto. They deliver amazing parties on a consistent basis. If anyone from out of town asks me whats going on in Toronto I always send them to FW regardless what day they want to party.

Congrats Footy!! I stand by my assertion that there's no other local venue I'd rather see my favourite djs at. :D
And kudos to Promise and Platform. You guys rock.
