While less powerful, Yellow in Tokyo, Japan had decent acoustics and a system that could easily run rings around it any day of the week until they closed two years ago. Custom boxes built by Kinoa himself with all hand-picked TAD components, and moving coil cartridges with Koetsu step-up transformers. Yeah... then again, as as we all know 'best' is a very subjective thing.
The sort of system revealing all the shearing, glassy edgy qualities of Red Book audio CD when compared to vinyl. All gone so not really an issue. |

| I can believe a system can expose the difference between vinyl and CD no problem, but I outright do not believe you can ever hear the difference between WAV and 320. Every scientific study I've ever seen or heard of backs me up, with only stubborn forum denizens opposing the clear evidence. |

the system is (well at least i know used to be, not sure now) 100% analog. Even cds don't sound proper compared to records.
The room is modeled after the Paradise Garage, and is built 100% for acoustics. (Box within a box design). As far as your ears getting too tired to tell, when the system is configured right the sound is so clear that you can have a conversation without yelling even when the room is at a top volume. There is so little distortion with the sound, and this is what makes this possible, i've danced there for 12 hours at a time, and the ears never hurt.
That being said, Mp3's sound like e there. I have no documented evidence or anything like that of course, but I own enough music in all 3 mediums, and have been to enough clubs that sound so bad where you absolutely would not be able to tell the difference for sure, Stereo is not one of them. |

| I don't buy it. At all. Unless you've heard the same track EQ'd the same way played back to back while you were completely sober, you can't even begin to say you have basis for comparison. Every track is produced and mastered differently, the DJ might EQ the track and you're almost certainly going to be drunk, on drugs or otherwise distracted anyway. Throw in the fact it's impossible for the human ear to hear those frequencies, and I have to call bull. |

| I have, we've done this test at sound check when my friend opened there. Not everything is that black and white jack...there is a reason why many try and get speaker parts from the 70's. Technology hasn't improved there, it has regressed. |

I'm no more likely to believe him than you. It's not that I think you're lying, although I do wonder why he would have bought the same track in two formats, but I think you're both wrong. Again, I've heard people who claim they can 100% definitely hear the difference, and their system didn't even cover the frequency range. People can be as sure as they want, doesn't make it real. |

| Don't give me that . If we believed our perception over what science told us, MP3s and WAVs wouldn't exist in the first place. Yours is the same logic behind reiki, homeopathy and faith healing. If you post some cold science to back you up I will happily eat humble pie. Otherwise, no dice. |
