I have it and am doing the lean version. Its challenging, but not as scary as it sounds......well it wasnt scary until I got to the DVD with a thousand f*cking pushups  All was good until 45 minutes later this dude is still asking you to do one-armed pushups and wide angle pushups, and clapping...FML....that was the DVD that I wanted to curl up in a ball and hug my teddy bear to.....no joke :(
I didnt find the legs, cardio, kenpo, or shoulders/arms to be anything too scary, but a workout nonetheless. The Yoga is tough, especially after the 60 minute mark....ugh! And, just to put it out there, I ALWAYS take a water break during the crane pose. F*ck if I try to kill myself with that BS!
I find it challenging but not scary. The hardest part is actually finding the time and energy to do this 6 days a week. I have been good at doing 4 days per week, so I am not going to see the same results as one who maxes out, but I do feel better and healthier everyday I do it!
One thing I would highly suggest is to write everything down! Increasing your reps and weights over time is the best way to do it, so having it in writing is really helpful to look back on :) |
Sweet! Another female doing it - I added you to our facebook group :) |

Lol, you should be doing the exact opposite actually. the most important thing is what you eat. when you eat more smaller meals a day you body does not starve thus does not store as much fat. |

I did p90x twice and the 2nd time i did it with a weight vest on and had no problems doing 100% of the workouts. But crossfit... thats another story!
i puked almost every week once or twice a week. Everything it timed and the faster you do the better you do. give you an example of one workout.
start with a 5k row
100 pullups
200 pushups
300 squats
end with a 5k row
right when i finished this workout i ran outside and puked alll over the place.
only thing that sucks about crossfit is its very costly (around $100 a month) and you lose alot of weight unless you spend even more money on a load of food. Their diet is paleo or zone. Paleo is no grains, dairy and something else cant remember.(just do a google search on it and you will find all you need to know) If you want to lose weight then thats the diet for you. |

^^ My friend who has been doing crossfit for 2 years (and looks great) just finished 30 day Paleo - amped up his results. Crossfit sounds terrifying but one day I'd like to try it.
My get-up-at-5am-to-workout routine has officially ruined my ability to sleep in. This is retarded, it's 5am on a Saturday. Guess I'll do a dvd now. |

Amazing website for planning nutrition and tracking calories. Totally free and has almost every item you can find in the grocery store and in restaurants. It allows you to set caloric goals and then track your progress against them.
You can save regularly eaten meals. You can also track workouts etc as well if you want.
Super easy and extremely useful.
Once you know what protein/fat/carb mix you want to use you can just build from there. Helps to make sure the balance of Macros is always consistent.
Once you have a good idea of your meal totals you dont really need to use it every day. |

yea i did the whole 5-6 smaller meals a day for about 4 years and my body didn't react as well. so i just eliminated a meal, but kept the protein intake the same via shakes. and with one less meal, i don't have to do cardio to burn off the fat like RJ was saying, nomsayin? |

Thanks, I could probably use this! I have forever considered myself a healthy eater (most garbage foods make me want to vomit and you couldnt convince me to eat fast food!) However, I realized recently I wasnt very educated on it. For instance, upon reading my Fitness mag recently, I realized that my daily yogurt snack tacked on 19 grams of sugar, and my turkey products (when non-lean) were often more fatty than regular beef products. I sincerely thought for such a long time that I was making the right decisions in eating, and I realized that my food was what was hindering my weight loss. I really had no clue!

^^ That's great! Good work.
To the poster above - everything marketed is somewhat of a fad. The point of the program is diet + exercise. It's not complicated, but the value is that the program is designed for you and it's all encompassing, and it's inexpensive. Plus there are so many support groups out there - those two aspects I've found the most helpful.
Day 18 here, still bringin it! |
