How exactly does selling 0 copies promote yourself?

piracy..blogs...etc...eric prydz earlier work can be found on the net, sounds like , even a misspelled released tracks...and they are not fake. it did not hurt him.

Trust me a have a 33 year old (REAL) techno purist living with me who is a massive critic, If its .....I will know about it.

but anyway I believe m4b knows his so I will take his advice.

m4b what alias are you releasing your tracks under?

*edit - just found one of the tracks from the EP ( out next week) on a electro blog. The only people who have had access to this track are a few labels and a radio station (it hasn't been aired on the radio station yet though).

to be honest to me that contract looks like a draft in a napkin, you are right when you say shorter is better since this kind of contracts are "sign what is written or don't sign" but damn i am lawyer and that lacks of a lot of basic things, in the long term you can have problems with that kind of contract.

For every one Eric Prydz there are 5,000 Kid Presentables. If you make it to that level in your current situation, you're a very lucky outlier.

Unfortunatly, I think you are missing a few zero's. Wish it weren't that hard.

I'm just speaking to the people who have enough game to attract a label's half-hearted due diligence. As far as competition goes, though, you're right.

i have always had the suspect that some labels intentionally leak some songs into successful medias, at least for some days, then they ask for a removal on the torrent site.

CalebGolston
I have suspected that too.
