You'll probably get more time to practice your DJ skills before you get on-stage and make an ass of yourself, that way. |

I was trying to quit smoking but apparently you want me to die of cancer, so I'm leaving to get a pack of cigarettes.
And actually, the humorous angling you're dismissing as unhelpful serves as a deterrent against starting pointless threads asking for advice you're not in any position to be able to accept, anyways.
But you don't like it so now, after going three whole hours without a cigarette, I'm going to take up smoking, again.

Santos- Not from strangers on a message board. Why all the anger? What is causing people to log onto TranceAddict and just emit this rage? I don't understand.
Ed - It isn't thaaat funny though. Especially when half a dozen people do it every thread. The written word is harder to judge than spoken. It isn't just people not getting it because they are a moron. |

In my haste to take up smoking, again, I missed this edit. In spite of the fact that you hate me enough to browbeat me into my coffin at $6.65 per pack, I like you and think your enthusiasm can go a long way into shaping this forum into what it could be. There's no doubt that things have been a little hectic around here, lately, and you've just happened on us when we're not at our very best, but you can't argue that every thread is like this or the one you started about how to master - the 507th thread about how to master, including those which were about other topics but somehow devolved into mastering.
Look at the thread DJ RANN started about how to optimize Windows XP for audio. There are some jokey posts in there, but it's materialized into quite the amalgam of useful information. There's no sniping or griping. No quarreling or splintering. Not even sarcastic, bombastic bickering.
There's banter for sure, but none with such snickering, at people's expense that you would find sickening. It's quite a delight that it's so constructive, yet you would construe all threads here as destructive?
And how did you arrive at such a conclusion? Were you hit in the head? A closed injury concussion? Be settled, my friend, for I am right here. All at once, I'll attempt to assuage you of fear. For we producers, you've noted, are a rowdy lot. But I'm here to assure you, your fears are for not.
The hatred you see isn't hatred, at all. Just love for a forum and a lust for the lulz. While it's helpful to author well-meaning discussion, we producers are adverse to such chronic disruption. It's not that we want to be mean or be dicks. It's just that the idiots are so ing thick.
I realize my prose conveys no concern. With your welfare in mind it is here you will learn. You're just a newb with a hunger for thinning, the noise of the forum that seems to be dinning. A crescendo of insults and taunts to beware. The violence is shrill and you're in despair.
Yet I have suggestions of knowledge acquired. Sage wisdom I have from hopping through briars, where tar-baby discussions are planted by liars, such as this thorny thread, I've plucked with my pliers.
Now, park on my lap and lend me your ear. I promise my hand will not find your rear. The search function, you'll notice, doesn't work all the time. It's hazy in usefulness and never will rhyme. For single word searches, it functions quite well but if you cannot find it you can go to this thread, here:

Type in the question that you'd like to ask. If we've read it before, no tongue will be lashed.
We'll link to your query and you'll be on your way without starting a thread, so stupid and gay. But what, you may ask, of all the abusers, who taunt and treat others as lugubrious losers. If chaos is not something you're given to like, to ignore is a virtue I'd bring to light.
To argue against us is not often wise, unless you're familiar with the facts and the lies. Although it's the chaos you seem to decry, our purpose is clearly, so dearly belied. You don't like the chaos and we do not either. But there are things bigger than flops, trolls and liars. An order imposes its insistent refrain from posting things stupid and really a pain.
And we impose order, right now and right here. The chaos you see is that which you've reared. Just look at your thread, unsubscribed and in tatters, when all of what masters is that which would matter. If chaos is yours to behold in arrears, it's chaos created in others, right here.
You're part of the problem with your solution. No forest for trees, just a loss in delusion. The more order, so dearly, that you try to impart, the more chaos appears and things fall apart. |

Honestly, I want to learn about production to help myself. As long as I start producing quality tracks I don't really care if I create pointless threads, don't search, ect.
I do take full responsibility for starting the 507th thread on mastering. In fact, judging by what it has become -I- created a/the 'poorly titled monster'. Similarly, the pads thread and mono/stereo are old tired topics which I lazily created. However, those failed to plunge into the dark dark depths which my mastering thread did.
Seriously, idrc about the politics. If som1 starting giving good advice to me after 100 threads of bashing me I would be like 'Thanks for the tip man!' I am not here to get mad, argue, or show how smart I am. Just want to learn to produce.
