What kind of car is it? Mine's a Subaru Impreza so it has full time AWD which definitely lowers gas mileage.

The Diesel thing hasn't really been popular here outside of large pickup trucks. But the last time I went to the pumps Regular unleaded gas was $3.99, and Diesel was $4.30.

And 10%???

Who the is paying 10%????

alright perhaps its been inflated a bit, we are talking about a 30 year ammortization period remember that.

I doubt the 80s would reoccur again but to be fair im just taking an average.

right now i am locked into a fixed 1 year at 2.25, probably will switch to varialbe (why pay the premium for security when you don't plan on holding the mortgage for so long)

regardless for those who plan to hold throught he 30 year ammort period, you cannot beat a 30 year fixed mortgage at 6%. rates will always be higher in canada, especially when our economy is doing much better than the states. interest rates and yeilds still remain low in the states, which is another sign as to why the cost of living in the states is cheaper than here.

Also with regards to a GOOD place to rent in toronto? its all relative when you consider what good is. there are some places in the harbor front which rent for about 10 k a month. (condo's)

Its supply/demand that dictate real estate prices in a given area. How else do presume prices are set? I couldn't even begin to rate what city is better than the other. Needless to say the known is less appealing than the unknown but you are free to move where ever you choose. I've heard many ppl who have visited Toronto describe it in glowing terms of the shopping and the public transportation (train in particular).

look at my post. We took an average, happy now?

About 50EUR to fill up the small fiat, and it lasts for about 700km (city), and about 80EUR to fill up the larger alfa romeo, and since i do mostly highway on that it lasts between 1000 and 1200km, depending on how much over the limit im driving. 1400km if i really push it, but a drive like that is so boring its not worth the money saved.

Both cars have the same 1.9l JTD fiat diesel engine, though the alfa has more HP.
