That is the reason why everything went well. No one showed up.
If you want people to come, learn how to sell the party. This forum has seen some of the best cottage parties where people flew from as far as Miami to attend it. Your idea is good, just work on what music you are playing. I suggest involving TOTA DJs by paying them some cash and you can even charge 10 or 15 bucks per person.
By the way, if 50 to 100 people show up (i wish they do) do you have plans to tackle any emergency? What if someone wants to take a break for a little while? Do you have arrangements for that? What about water and some small eatable items?
Please think these things through because the last thing you would want is someone passed out on your property and you trying to explain the authorities what went wrong.

Exactly. That is what I found laughable. You're not going to convince people to come by telling them you can promise them sick you tube videos. I can look those up myself.
Not to mention all of the other pertinent issues that need to be addressed that you indicated Tyler (i.e. how emergency situations will be dealt with, places for ppl to rest, location etc.) Barry and the others did an amazing job organizing the TOTA Cottage parties.

THIS! The set list just looked like something you would hear at a community dance. 1 hour of this style of music, 1 hour of something completely different. You go from rock and roll to rap to techno and trance (those 2 alone shouldn't even be mentioned in the same set time). Then jungle and progressive listed during the same set times. They couldn't be more different. It looked like someone just said "let's name all of the styles of music we know and mix them up at a party". So random and very unappealing to me. |
