Digweed: biggest fan but I was very disappointed. Guy J was so much better at Stereo some weeks ago.

Amazing night, great music ! Hakim and DIgweed were absolutely amazing. The only up is that it was sooooooo damn hot!!!

Randomly decided to taxi it it DT around 3:30, got in around 4-4:30, wow the place was packed. Last time I went to circus was back in 2008 or 09 (?) when Preach was playing the smaller room.

Have to say Circus is fakin beautiful now, completely different from how I remember it, and those damn speakers were pumping. Digweed played exactly how I thought he would, freaking amazing!

I lasted till about 8AM and I couldn't move anymore, either way prolly the best drunken decision I've made in awhile lol, had an awesome time!

Edit: What I would give to hear that set now that the beer's outta me, couldn't ID fak all last night lol

moar reviews!

awesome!

a little hot as mentioned but really good music and it was jam packed (great vibe)

diggers played a good set, hakim + voorn played a little better :)

gotta love hakim giving diggers a run for his money hehehe

Ok so my review is going to differ a bit.
Hakim is a good guy from what I hear, but i was disappointed in his opening set. I heard him at Salon Daoume and it was better then. He went from tech house to prog to techno and back, no follow through imo. Mixing skills were not so good as well.

The begining of John's set was okay, but it got really good at around 6am. I was digging that! left before Joris.

I don't understand how it is possible to have an awesome sound system but fail miserably at Climate Control???
Enjoy
great set by diggers, sounded so peurf on that sound system

but man was it ing hot

It was a curse at Stereo for years too.

We invested a lot of time & money into our image / bookings / sound & vibe recently

Go rid of the hiphop, friendlier staff, good energies all around

Next step is to take care of AC

We're working on a few solutions at the moment

Obvously having that many people inside one place dancing etc ... it will get hot ... that's the way afterhours should be ... but it was a bit too much at some point and we've tried many solutions on the spot

I agree with everyone, there is work to do and so far we've been listening a lot to what our clientele has to say ... and that's our main priority

Expect change in a very near future :)

Promesse de Scout haha

Anyways ... all i can say is this :

What a night !!!

Amazing set by Voorn & massive party in that trance room ... wow

Diggers had a blast and wanted to play till noon lol

Working on bringing him back and for a longer set this time ... according to his request after the show :D

Thanks to everyone who made it

See you soon guys !

okay... after recovering all day in bed i finally have an energy to write a review

so, came in around 2 to see Omar and Hakim play. Both delivered very good warm up sets and got me right in the groove, congrats to both. I was pleasently surprised by the new circus. The decoration, light, bars, staff were all amazing and i was expecting nothing but the best night. However, i soon realized that i wasnt going to be the case. The heat soon became unbearable and for the first time in my life, i felt my own sweat drip on me, i was absolutely drenched, before digweed even came on. Having invested so much in everything from lighting to sound, i was expecting there to be a better ventilation system and on that note, circus failed. Good to know the guys at circus are working on it and i honestly hope that the situation will improve asap! having known its going to be that hot, i doubt i would have came in first place.

Digweeds set was pretty good, and im not saying amazing, because in my opinion, it was too much to handle. i dont know whether it was him or the sound, but towards the middle of his set i just couldnt handle it any more. The sound was too overwhelming, the bass made my stomach and intestines resonate to the point where i was feeling uncomfortable and had to go on the corner of the room in order not to feel nauseous. The high pitch sounds and digweeds crazy effects made my ears bleed, even with my ear plugs. I took them off for a bit just to see how it is, and i dont know how ppl lasted the whole night without earplugs and cam out of there with their hearing. I was too much, and not enjoyable. Its as if the sound system is just too much for the club, which clearly wasn't designed for sound, like stereo is.

Digweeds set was too ed and twisted as well, he was absolutely brutal, relentless and i was under the impression that he just wanted to kill me. Usually thats what i like the most but this time it just wasnt my cup of tea. I never thought i wasnt going to enjoy a digweed set, but the combo of the intense sound system and his evil tracks and the heat were just too much for me, as well as all of my friends. Over all i had a very hard time enjoying myself, and thats too bad because I was anticipating this moment for the longest time - im rather disappointed. I didnt even stay until the end, at 7 we thought that digweed was getting the best of us so we decided to leave.

Still, big props for circus for their new set up, sound, and obviously this enormous booking, but if i had the possibility to do it all over again, i wouldnt.

I hate to say this, and i hate comparing both clubs, but i think that i would have had a more fun had he played at stereo, again no offense, circus became a world class club and i have more respect for them as ever, its just that there is something about the venue that makes it a cracked out night for all of my friends when we go. Its so dark, big, underground, too many rooms, its like a cracked out adventure for me. Stereo is one room, one crowd, one vibe, easier to handle. It takes me weeks to recover from events at circus!!

Im glad to hear digweed enjoyed playing at circus and even more glad to hear he wants to come back, gives a good rep to the city, but again, if the ventillation isnt fixed no way im making it out again, not even for digweed, and thats coming from me who lately only listened to sasha digweed and hernan religiously.

I might be crazy, might be a light-weight for not being able to handle the night properly, but thats how i felt, just trying to be honest about my experience.

Ive had my fix for a while after this night, i think im staying away from after hours for a while now, really sad i cant make it for sasha since im leaving on monday.

Im curious to know if anyone shared the same experience as me? anyone? :S
