We change the soundsystem .... you guys find it too loud
We book the djs you wanna hear .... well they didn't play the tracklist you wanted
I wonder if it's worth it to buy a new AC system, I'm scared that some of you find it too chilly and bring us to court cuz you caught a cold while dancing in the club
Hahaha I love this board :) |
A few people complain, and you take them for the majority? With those numbers, you're probably doing just fine. |

At the end of the day we all want Circus to succeed and be a viable alternative to the club across the street that's highly popular with many but keeps booking the same 8 latin djs on rotation every Saturday :p |
Someone hasn't been keeping an eye on the bookings for a while now :p |

No don't worry I'm just kidding
We only have positive feedbacks from our clients + staff + partners
Everyone is more than happy with the changes and we are working on making the club even better
It simply takes time and money but at the end, everyone will be happy :)
Don't forget that we closed the hip hop room ... which was bringing 3 to 400 000$ in revenues yearly ... There goes our AC hehe |

I won't even look but lemme guess: Chus and Ceballos, D Formation, Angel Moraes, Victor, Vibe...and I hear Peter Rauhofer's taking spanish lessons just to fit in :p
They're good, safe bookings and it's what their clientiele wants but for selfish reasons I'd like to see some of the Friday bookings on the Saturdays since I don't live in Montreal. |

Massive Night.
As soon as I found out Digweed was playing in Montreal, even though I knew he’d be in Toronto, I had already made my decision which way I wanted to go. I’ve seen him play the main room at Guvernment a couple times already, I wanted change, and a proper after hours experience when I saw him play; and I knew I could get this in Montreal.
We got there in time to catch almost a couple hours of Hakim’s set, and I really enjoyed what he was playing. Some nice techiness and some wonderful progressive house. He had me moving from the get go. Spent a little time wandering around the club, as this was my first time at Circus, and honestly, I really liked what I saw. Many places to move around, to sit down, and to dance; very good use of space. I had heard about the heat issues before I came, and yes, it can become uncomfortable at times, but there are things that one can do to help with this and avoid the over heating. The fan got moved to the open door near the front which certainly helped out a lot. Sound system was great. It did get loud at points, I agree, but as mentioned, Digweed likes to play loud. I would certainly return back to Circus again.
Now Digweed. He seriously had me captivated the entire time he was playing. As I said to a friend, he just grabbed me and kept drilling the journey he was taking us on into my head and I was mesmerized. Around the 630-7am time period he just got so twisted and intense, and I just couldn’t get enough of it. I had to get right in the dance floor and just hold me head. As I described how I felt about his set in the Toronto forum before the gig at Guvernment, he was “Dark. Brooding. Sinister. Relentless. Journey. Masterpiece.” This night was truly one of my top two sets I’ve seen him play, paired up with “WMC Vagabond in March of 2009”. I had to just stand by the booth for a bit and just watch him at work. He does it with such ease; looks so simple; and what he brought out of those speakers to the crowd was truly nothing simple to the ears.
Such an incredibly intense night of music I will not forget anytime soon. |
