Swedish House Mafia have slammed fellow music producers for diluting dance and house music.

The 'Miami 2 Ibiza' trio accused other producers of turning current dance music into cheesy pop songs that have a negative impact on the credibility of the house genre.

"All this chewing-gum child s**t will destroy the house scene. It happened before in 1998 with the filtered house disco stuff," member Axwell told the Daily Star.

"When you start using the Lambada and novelty songs it's like raping house music. It's gone further away from what it was meant to be. It's pretty dark what some artists are doing."

Axwell also suggested that certain music producers mix the same style of song continuously, while others are part of a copycat culture.

"There's a lot of similar sounding records out there. We don't want house to be watered down. It's up to us to keep it real," he added.

The Swedish trio are currently promoting their new single 'Save The World', which charted at number 11 in Sunday's Top 40.

Saw this article a while back but didn't see anybody post it. Can someone tell me if this is a joke or not?

Thankfully, Mutek revived my hope and excitement for music the other weekend.

Acts like Elektro Guzzi, Radiq, Daniel Tate, and Wareika really impressed me and offered up some really fresh sounds in some interesting ways.

Never heard of any of those guys prior to Mutek, but they all left me /very/ impressed and with hope for the future of electronic music. There are still good / new / unique things out there.

This has to be a joke... their very own video on the page is a prime example of what theyre talking about.
