I think it rocks. But then again I don't look at her the way you do.
Furthermore, I'm just imagining it on myself. I think it would look really cool. :)

Girls look at hairstyles and go "Oh wow, that is awesome!".
Like the fringe (Cleopatra style, not the side swept one).
It doesn't. It's and it makes women look less attractive, just like that thing above.

If you have no interest on a girl, because she has a hoop on her head, it's your loss.

But if you don't like the reason why she's wearing one, then i guess some people are just angry or comedians.

Either way, a hoop wont stop me from getting some.

right, because women have to be attractive to men to have a fulfilled existence in 2011.

that said i am really sick of the partial shaved head thing. it was cool when i saw it like once a week. but now it's like every 5 people i see in brooklyn. it's not a question of being attractive, but i generally don't get along with late adopter trend whores

Somewhat true. Maybe not a fulfilled existence personally, but definitely socially.

well i know it's true, but it's rather unfortunate don't you think?

i don't think there is anything wrong with admiring beauty - but the problem is society (male dominated still, mind you) has too narrow views (often unhealthy) about what is beautiful, and also beauty is often seen as a possession or commodity.

Yeah it is unfortunate, but I also don't think the average male's views about what is beautiful is the same as the media, i.e. borderline malnourished-looking skinny girls.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about beauty being seen as a possession or commodity.

well, you can 'buy' beauty (better said, hotness) packaged as breast implants, waxing strips, 'skinny' pepsi cans, etc, etc. in other words, beauty is the product that all of these various things are selling, and people are buying into it more than ever. this is a relatively recent cultural phenomenon that i think really started with advertising in the 1960s.

That's just how people work though. Actually, that's how all animals work. More attractive things are more desirable. Marketing companies would be fools not to capitalize on that.

Also, I don't think it's anything new. Here's an add from the 1920s

She may not be considered "hot" by today's standards, but I'm sure she was back then.

Retro is not a recent trend. Fads have always come and gone and cropped up again some time later.
