Holy sh*t did you guys see the dude with the "Welcome to Stereo ALEX" on the front of his shirt and (((Sasha))) on the back :wtf:

I love how he capitalized ALEX, letting everyone know that he knows Sasha's first name, so he's a super fan.

I tried so hard to get a pic, but it the lighting was never right

Well, he seems to be a pretty good guy on the forums, so I guess that changes my impression a bit :)

I love to read such a variety of reviews from people. It’s nice to hear the different experiences others had. It truly goes to show that the diversity of EDM fans that come for some of these events. Sasha can sometimes be a DJ that some just don’t get. I’ve seen him a couple times and I didn’t get what he was trying to do either. It just didn’t click with me. This was not the case on Friday. It was hard for me to put into words the experience that I had at Stereo.

He had the euphoric melodies, the chugging techno; the dirty rawness; the vocals; and some pure evil darkness near the end – Sasha was spot on. His journey was a musical roller coaster for me, and I love roller coasters. He worked that room so well and you could tell he wanted to be there.

There were some real intense peaks and beautiful valleys. Being an extended set I knew this was going to be the case. To me, the first hour and half or so felt like one of his “Never say Never” sets, which I really enjoy a lot. Great tracks to warm up the crowd and get a groove on. I got a message at 6am asking how Sasha was doing; “He hasn’t even let it drop yet. His fist is pulled back, ready to punch.” And not too long after that, this is what he did, and the room exploded.

My track of the night was when he played Anthony Rother’s – Man up on the Hill (Instrumental version). I looked around to see so many people feeling the moment. Sasha cracked a smile; he had people eating out of the palm of his hands.

Somewhere around 9:30 I would say: Nero – Innocence (Sasha vs. V_rtek Edit) transitioned into L&B – What Do You Say Now... incredible. Some may feel, why would he do the same thing he did on his released set (Womb Tokyo), knowing that many a fan would recognize it. I did not care. That vibrating deep bass, with the “machine gun” ripping through that room was such a surreal moment. Dark; blue; strobes. Everything pulled together perfectly. Our bus headed back to Toronto at 1030 and it was getting close to 10 so we had to get leaving. At this time Sasha started to really experiment; at first I wasn’t quite sure what to think, but it was still so hard to leave. You said it so well Patrick:

915-10 Sasha started winding down the set with mainly melodies, but always with some great banging elements. This is probably the best set wind down ive witnessed. Most DJ's will slap 2 tracks at the end of the set that people dont even like....Sasha just kept you on a leash.

Art. Exactly what Sasha does so well.

Thank You Sasha and Thank You Stereo for making this night happen.

In trying to compare this set to Red Lite in March, it is like two completely different beasts. As much as I did love that phenomenal chugging afterhours set; Friday night was a woven journey into the realm of Sasha's mind... and the emotional ride couldn't have been better for me. I much prefer the latter

Got there around 3 and Tone Depth was playing to a packed Stereo. I liked some of his set, but it was cyclical: I liked parts of it, then the I didn't like the following part, and so on.

Then Sasha got on and the crowd exploded. After reading some of the reviews, I can see how the start of his set was a continuation of Tone Depth's. Anyways, it was my first time seeing Sasha, and I liked it. Too bad I lost so many friends along the way, haha!

I've always known Sasha as "Alexander" so Knox is showing me his t-shirt and I'm thinking: "err...yes, it's a nice 100-percent cotton crew neck t" :p

Corjay: those Charlie Sheen weekends can be done if you can sleep at least a good four hours in between and you get your carbs and protein, etc. I ran out of gas at Beach Club though, bikinis in front of me and I could still probably sleep standing up there towards the end - albeit on three legs :p

Again, as for the set, it was a stellar piece of artwork, just not made for the dancefloor completely, imo. The proggy bits ran a bit too long.. well postioned for the types of dramatic shifts you want in an extended set but there is a fine line there when you do that, imo.

It's impossible to campare red lite sasha to stereo sasha because it was soo different. Sasha made a beautiful 2 hour prog set @ Red lite. But @ Stereo, it was much more then just a simple set... it felt like an event. Only way I can properly describe Sasha @ Stereo is pure mind-.
Spin Laden
exactly.. as someone wrote earlier :p ;) there's just too many variables involved to make a fair comparison between the two gigs.

Maybe I needed my mind sunglasses on hehe
