I wasnt planning on making the trek to MTL for this, but when I read he was playing an extended set and that a bunch of friends were bussin it down....i decided to come along!

I've seen S&D twice and Digweed many times, but never Sasha alone. From the S&D experiences (pepsi center and black n blue), I always thought Digweed was doing most of the work based on the fact Sasha looked mashed or super tired, so last night was a chance to see Sasha do his thing and prove me wrong.

Arrived at 330 and quickly connected with my fellow TOTA's and ran into Malek and Mrs. Haus. Nice meeting you! Unlike some folks, I disliked Tone Depth. I found his set (from 330 till switchover) to be very uneven. There were some slots that were good, but then the tempo totally changed and killing my grove. I was starting to lose patience and question coming down to MTL for the party. Sasha came out at 430 or 530? and his set started slowly. It took till 7 to really unleash. Sasha also made me question my MTL trip since it took a while to kick off. So I feel for Malek's disappointment in Sasha. But you have to realize that he is doing an extended set, so he cant be banging for a full 6 hours, otherwise the crowd would be gone by 8am.
630-7 had some classic tracks and 7 onward was just insane.

7-9:15 was a mix of banging music laced with mindbogling melodies and loops. That is also when the sound was brought up a notch. I felt the sound prior to that was too low and made it feel like social hour. I often had to pull out of the dance floor and go to the back cuz it was too much too handle :p

915-10 Sasha started winding down the set with mainly melodies, but always with some great banging elements. This is probably the best set winddown ive witnessed. Most DJ's will slap 2 tracks at the end of the set that people dont even like....Sasha just kept you on a leash.

In the end, this was a fantastic party even though it took a long time to kick off. Traveling 8 hours, party for 7, and travel for 8hours was all worth it! And lets just say that he bus ride home was interesting! lol

I also found the crowd to be a bit rude until 6-7, then it spread out a bit and became more bearable. The place was rammed. Even at 10 when Sasha finished, there were tons of pple on the dance floor and in the stands

Tone Depth: 5/10
Sasha first 1.5 hour: 7/10
Sasha from 7-10am: off the chart!

He started at around 430ish, but if you were blindfolded, you wouldnt know the djs changed... Sasha usually stops the music and puts something completely different, your confusion is understandable.

I was getting antsy and the wait felt like forever as I was hoping to see him on at 4 :p

So he finished up at 10? Cool only missed the last 15 minutes. With the amount of people left he could have gone for another hour..

ya he finished at 10am...bowed down said thanks and jetted the outta there with at least 450 ppl left inside. it was the longest set sasha has played in over 3 years. next time, he wants an even longer slot. like when danny howells did dig deeper nights, u gotta be patient with sasha when he's doing a set over 3 hours. after 645am, it was sheer debauchery. i get where u're coming from tho malek, 2+ hours into a set + no drugs or alcohol, u need a few bombs to keep you going...

i've been going to stereo since may 2005. this was easily amongst the best nights i've ever had there, or anywhere else for that matter.

thank you stereo <3

The best parties i've had at Stereo were the ones where i walked in at 7am, fresh and rested, right on time for the morning mayhem of extended sets.

Glad to hear Sasha had a good time! Lock him in for a 6-hour set next time i'm 100% in!

Now the question is for those who Saw Digweed a few weeks ago and Sasha on friday, who was better? I missed Digweed, so let's hear it! Hahahaha

P.S. Stereo, book Sasha the same Labour Day weekend and everyone up

This was the first track that set it off for me, up until then I was kind of disappointed. I agree with malek that the first two hours of sasha's set was basically a continuation of Tone Depth's set, which threw me off. I've seen sasha a few times now but never for a set this long so I'm used to him jumping into his traditional proggy house style a lot sooner. It makes sense that for an extended set he wants to build things slowly, though. I lost my steam around 8am and left, I'm sure I missed the best part of the set :(

Anyway, good to see a few of you, been a long time!

Then he should of kept playing if he wants a longer set :p or maybe stereo was trying to end it....odd based on the size of the crowd still left

I saw digweed @ guv, not the circus one and it was the best set ive heard from him. He played for 4 hours.

Honestly, I really cant compare the two. Both were truly amazing.

Knox may be able to compare both as he saw both in MTL...but even then....
