so this was my first pvd event in god knows how long. it was great seeing all the old school people, alyssa, andrew, dirty DAVE was around!, zaneta, kelly, and a whole bunch of people here and there. i got there a bit before 8 and decided to leave around 11. now onto the music...

yeah i didn't like it haha (flame on). i haven't listened to much pvd lately so i was curious to see what he does now. it just seemed (to me at least) that consecutive tracks had no rhyme or reason for lack of a better term. PVD needs more RAM in his macbook pros too - tracks froze at least 4 times in the 3.5 hours i was there.

all in all i had a relatively good time at the island, seeing a lot of old heads on the "beach" there.

Maybe it was overheating? This was outside in a tent yes?

yes

but at Nature One last year, his set was fine. it was outdoors, in a much bigger tent.

agreed on the hardware issues!

i didn't think the set was comparable to the older sets of the 2000 era, but the relaxed vibe, the chill people and just having PvD spin for 6 and not 2 hours was good enough for me.

it was fun. kudos to the guido who knocked down my drink and went through the trouble of buying me a replacer and introducing me to his wife and friends. drunken conversations are awesome.

great seeing Drew and Lyss! great seeing the old and the new generations partying it up and having a grand time.

as a big PvD fan, it was just great to have him here, spinning on an island for 6 hours throwing down anthems for us.

I had the best time ever. I just LOVE outdoor events, the views, the perfect weather, the music, and the fact that PVD always brings out tons of new and old school friends. :) :) :) Just tons of laughing and dancing from start to finish!

Really good times!!! I guess I was having too much fun to notice any issues with the set/computer :conf:

Negative: whats with the ferry being SO incredibly slow? I stood in line for an hour, got on the boat, and even when they stopped letting people on the boat, we STILL waited a good 20 minutes to launch for a 5 minute trip. kind of annoying IMO.

boat launch was every half hour or something right? it was all right i guess, considering only the two boats were in use. gotta fill it up!

Had a great time, and it was nice meeting a bunch of you before hand, and throughout the show. That was my first time at an outdoor festival, and definitely was not disappointed. PVD threw it down..... but did anyone notice he played For An Angel twice? Once in the beginning, and once towards the end of his set

The same thing happenee last year for July 4th Calderone show at Gov Island. 1 hour at the line which everybody kept cutting, 10 minute at the boat, a line for will call ticket, and another to get in.

I guess its one disadvantage of having a big event at the island
