I worked at a Wal-Mart once, many years ago. For 1 week. I trained to help open this flagship store of theirs, and on opening day, I couldn't find a single ing parking spot. So I just never came back.

It was when I very first moved to Florida and had just turned 18. The night shift was all Haitian, and couldn't understand a lick of English, so everything us day people took all day to set up, they'd take it all down during the night and steal/dismantle/throw away/move. The store took twice as long to set up as they had projected.
In the mornings, "associates" would group together for what was quite seriously Wal-Mart prayer. I excused myself for a smoke break each time, and I didn't even smoke back then. :o
That on top of the fact that I hate fluorescent lights... . I'd ditch their again if I could. |
