Other Stuff: Tips! [[New Section!!]]

www.sitebits.com/nyc/advice.html

- Houston is pronounced "HOUSE-ten" unlike the city in Texas, which is pronounced "HYOO-sten". (fuk, we do our best to be least like those red states, don't we?! haha jk)

- Don't be a fool and walk in Central Park alone at night. Actually, don't even do it with 1 other person at night.

- Don't be a fool.

- Only ride in YELLOW CABS. Black cabs = Gypsy Cabs = Run for your vacation dollars!

- People WILL ask you for money. Some will look homeless, some will not. It's your call if you want to give but please, if you have to take out your entire wallet, DON'T do it. Transit Authority Police advise not to give change to bums but to charities. It's your choice.

- Needless to say, don't pool your money all in one wallet. Put some in ya sock! I keep 2 wallets, both compact in size- for those potential "gimme yo wallet!" scenarios.

- You can carry mace/pepper spray legally here.

- Do yourself a favor and don't wear birkenstocks with socks on

i dont really post here much anymore and i don't live anywhere near NYC anymore so i thought maybe someone who's active in NYTA could take over the NYC Visitor's Thread? and what i mean by that is copy and paste the original post into a new thread, have that sticky'd and update it (i'd delete my thread) ?

any takers?

Wow! I can tell you guys really put a lot of time and effort into this thread. Thank you so much! Can't wait to come to NY!

One question: I'm itching for some vinyl. Our last EDM record store in Atlanta closed two years ago. If I only have time to go to one record store, which one would you recommend?
