Living Alone (pg. 4)

I lived alone for two years when I was 20-22. I had an adorable little studio apartment in downtown; I miss it so much.

I enjoyed living alone, it was very nice to have my space all to myself exactly how I wanted it. My neighbors were awesome, actually, the whole building was awesome. Our building was gated so most people left their front doors open and everyone visited each other. was pretty cash.

I had to move, though, long story short management changed hands and the woman who took over is a ****.

I currently live in a really awesome house with 4 other people. 2 of the 4 ing suck, they are dicks and everyone (our friends included) hate them; we're all counting down the days until they move in January. The other two that live with me are amazing people who I honestly couldn't ask for better friends.

Living alone messed my body clock up for good.

Now that my girlfriend is here, I "feel" it's time to go to bed when she's feeling sleepy - the same used to happen when I lived at my folks and everyone else was on their pyjamas. But, without this "social aid", I'd study/write/code all night long and I'd often be greeted by a rising sun.

This was the only "problem". Living on your own rocks! I'd always have friends come by when I felt I was about to become a hermit, for example, and I really can't think of any other problem :)

i just want to reiterate what Stu, Pie and the others said- very sound advice.
especially about the neighbors part. i had a friend who swore by the rule to never get too close to your neighbors. it's safer and easier that way.
i tend to be more social though, and it has come back to bite me in the ass more than once.
i forget who said it here- "don't where you eat." spot-on!
case in point- the last apartment building i lived in, i befriended this hawt chick and it was cool. we'd smoke out and just have fun. then, of course, we banged. it was great. we talked about it and she didn't want to have a relationship- just be friends. awesome right?
no. once she saw another girl and i getting friendly she flipped her wig, and a huge cat fight ensued.
guess who didn't have a chair when the music stopped- me.
they became friends and i was the villain.
followed by them complaining to management about anything and everything, even to the point of making up.

COR version- don't have sex with your neighbors

also, get a cat (or a dog if you don't like cats).
animals are family and priceless. (and cleaning up a hairball is much easier than dealing with some bull- drama that can come from roommates)
btw- drinking more will not make you happier or your life better, quite the opposite in fact.

There's something sooo satisfying about enjoying a nice glass of wine alone. I used to love sitting out on my porch in the evening, smoking cigs and drinking wine after finishing up an assignment or whatever. So nice to not have conversation with anyone and just be with one's own thoughts.
bananas
why would you not want to flush the toilet? :wtf: that's disgusting

You can't do that even when you live with someone else? I do that often. Of course, I can be militantly solitary, lol.

Not really the same thing.

Here's a little ditty I wrote about being with oneself:
