I am done discussing it as well. Pro proved my point about people being black and white about issues and unable to even begin to investigate hard, uncomfortable things that might fall between them. And as it is uncomfortable for any sane person and my point proven, lets leave such a disgusting topic alone.

Well, I am not interested in discussing kiddie porn, so...yes.

So what are you advocating for? Government intervention in people's bad habits? Smoking is already heavily taxed, that is sort of the point. If the cost to general health is not enough to offset these already enormous taxes cultivated on every pack sold, then what is the almighty authority using the money for instead? Oh, wars? Treatment of the fat? Pensions? MUFFINS??
Joss Weatherby
The taxes do not offset the cost of the health care that these people need when they get horrible diseases from their choices.

Unless the victims are very poor and already on government medical aide then the people that foot the bills are the other policy holders of the private insurance that covers their bills. If they are uninsured it affects all policy holders.

If we had a single payer government system and their tax money went directly into that then I could rationalize taxes being enough, or smoking less of a social ill, but in this country it is really hard to argue that.

Its not illegal though. :stongue:

There is nothing preventing me from googling right now pictures of a person being raped, real rape, and looking at them, downloading them, or posting them on TA. It is perfectly legal in terms of criminal law.

The only way the victim would be able to go after someone is if they took the person who had them to civil court for violating what would essentially be their copyright. Copyright is a civil matter in the United States.

 no. to have pictures/video from a rape would mean that someone who was at the very least an accessory to that rape took them, meaning they committed a crime. those videos and pictures become evidence to a felony. that evidence would be illegal to not turn over when subpoena'd. now, if she chooses not to prosecute for some reason, then you would be correct. but, if those images or pictures were subject to a criminal investigation, it would be illegal to posses or distribute them.

you didn't prove . i didn't get emotional or worked up by your inane arguments. i still believe what i believed when this whole thing started. you brought up an example that has nothing to do with consensual crimes and then tried to peck it to death. child pornography does not fall into the category of consensual crimes because there is no consent!

Is that true though? I can see it going either way. A pack of smokes here in CO is about $6.50, and our Aussies are saying packs there are like $15 wampum, or whatever it is they use there. Kangaroo teeth?

Either way, that's a ing lot of taxes.

Haha, felony rape. I think you'd have to rape a bald eagle stuffed with cocaine on the white house lawn in order to qualify for that. Brb.

"Felonies include, but are not limited to: aggravated assault and/or battery, arson, burglary, illegal drug use/sales, grand theft, robbery, murder, rape, and vandalism on federal property."

Right, on federal property. I think everything else is handled at a state-level. I dunno, I haven't been caught yet!
