You continuously post you obviously have no clue about.

Felony charges are handled at the state level unless the crime was committed on federal property or against an agent or employee of the federal government, or where interstate jurisdiction is required.

You do not go to federal court if you rape someone, you go to state court. If you took someone across state lines and raped them, then it would be a federal crime with the ability to be tried in federal court.

Its clear you have no idea how our justice system works and you are just making up.

the technicalities of which court a crime would be tried in don't change the substance of my argument. jesus christ. a crime to be tried in criminal court, excuse me. you brought up civil vs. criminal. that's the distinction i tried to make. not state/federal.

Smoking is just a vile smelling filthy habit. Walking past people & smelling stale smoke is just as irritating as walking past somebody who smells of piss or somebody who smells of bad body odour. I don't think making packets blank will do much though. They need to drum into the heads of everybody from a very young age just how much damage it can do. Show them corpses, disected lungs, other associated conditions and make sure that people realise what they're doing to themselves. Then if they choose to smoke, make sure they either pay enough in taxes on it to cover any healthcare or make them insure themselves against it (make cigs cheap but force mandatory health insurance premiums) which will pay the care. People probably wouldn't do that though so just tax the out of them until they cut out food to buy their smokes & they die from starvation :p

Well seeing that civil court is NOT criminal court, as in you're not charged with a crime in civil court, and it is not usually the state who brings the complaint (read COMPLAINT not charges)...

Crimes are tried in criminal court, if you are tried in civil court and the ruling is against you then you do not have a criminal record or anything like that.

So yea, you don't know jack.

what the are you even talking about?! i didn't say crimes are tried in civil court you dip. rape is a state felony in all 50 states. if that's wrong, cite it. state courts can prosecute state felony crimes. i never brought anything up about civil court, you did.

I was never arguing that rape wasn't a crime, I was never arguing child molestation wasn't a crime, I was never arguing that anything involving little children being abused wasn't a crime.

Tell me where I said any of those things were not a crime.

All I said is that in every single one of those cases, except where it involves children, pictures of the criminal act, even taken by the criminal during the act are perfectly legal to possess and do not result in a new victim of the original crime. Is that so hard to understand? All I am trying to get you to look at is that there is a double standard, valid or not, regarding this situation. I am not arguing for or against child pornography, I only presented it as a thought experiment.

But obviously you remain willfully ignorant of what I am even trying to argue, or you just plain do not understand at all what I am trying to demonstrate here. You also seem to resort to emotional reactions, suggesting things that I have not even said. But hey, I said this would happen before I even brought it up, so there you go, and I'll say it again: Thanks for validating my point.

i get it. we don't disagree. i'm just not sure where this argument emerged. your initial argument was that there would be consensual crimes that i wouldn't agree with. you used the word "victimless" which i think is overused and useless for what i am discussing. by my definition of consensual crimes, there are no consensual crimes that i believe should be illegal, because consensual crimes are between one or more consenting adults.

then you argued that owning child pornography was a "victimless" crime. i simply argued that child pornography didn't fall into the definition i was using in discussing consensual crimes and you proceeded to find anything and everything you could to disagree with me. then you became hostile, calling me an idiot and a retard. i would say that was an emotional reaction on your part.
