I was just using it as an example as how the rest the world thinks, how the US Government reacts to certain situations.

That was a long time ago anyway pal, do you ing think American were the only country in that war fighting the Germans and Japanese? don't tell me at school they probably told you European where just ing common paupers who worked in factories and didn't fight in the war, as their armies had been battered. Well your country didn't get constantly bombed for ing years by air, you don't live on a small Island and your ships carrying supplies didn't get torpedoed every day, remember the size of the British Isles and size of areas of europe the Germans had conquered and think how many fronts we were getting it from, and do u think Germany and Japan would of stopped ivading if they had invaded the British Isles? Reason why it pisses me off is my grandfather fought in World War 2 my Great grandfather in World War 1 they both survived they both fought hard my grandfather earned the highest British medal there is in WW2, they killed ppl they crawled though ing mud, saw their friends die just like any other soldier who fought in that war did, how you said it mate seemed as you single handedly won world war 2. |

Truth of the matter is that if America had not stepped in Europe would of been under Hitler's rule...you know it and i know it....tahst an entirely different debate...and if you would like we can debate it.... |

Ok tiest14. I'm very tired now and I didn't want to discuss anything. But only because OF YOU I'll take the extra time (my gf is waiting...)to disscuss one of the main *fact* of my first post.
America's budget for military is about 260 Billions a year.
Here are my questions for you:
Question 1) Where does the money representing soldiers salaries goes? Where do they spent it? When they do, who in general do benefice from it?
Question 2) When the US army buys equipment and ammos, which companies (and of course employees who work for them) do benefice of it? These workers get salaries... where is that salary spent?
I think you should understand the logic behind this, monies don't just vanish in thin air. You can't just say wars costs alot, yes they do if you just think about it as a figure. That money ends up being spent at your dads grocery (let say) and your uncle's barbershop and at a new car (GM workers get more work) and buying that new furniture and that new house, etc etc...
That's how economy work! When the private sector alone can't get the economy moving (as it is now). The Gov intervenes to spend money to get things going again. It could be major infrastructure construction, monies given to big companies to help them (aviation companies for example), .... and yes wars!
Don't tell me this is conspiracy! This is plain economics. It is known that after every major war, the economy of the US has greatly expanded. Look at the period after WW1 and WW2 (golden era for US economy) and if you're too young or uneducated about this look at the years following the gulf war. From 1991 to 2001 the US economy was more than booming, the best decade in US history. And how was the economy before 1990-1991? Remembers the slow 80s?
Just think about this for a moment.
If I write things that I don't back up with an explanation or facts (on the spot) it is due to me not wanting to write a novell on TA. Also knowing that most of people won't even bother reading it. This doesn't make them in any ways a conspiracy theories or whatever. If you think that this little economy lesson is a conspiracy then ... I really don't know what to say. I'm sorry for you. |

again... the same issue that the blodthirsty, flag waving, gun toting, bomb-everything americans don't realize is: a war on terrorism is not a war on IRAQ....
why are we arguing the same thing AGAIN? didn't anyone read the thread about afghanistan?? iraq is not a terrorist country. its not a country run and populated by terrorists. there may be terrorists in the country, yes, and yes, maybe saddam does finance and supply weapons to terrorists, but you can't bomb an entire country to eradicate a small portion of the population, that's just ludicrous!
i'll bet there are terrorists hiding out in america, so why don't we bomb america? cause most of the casualties would be civilians.
who does america think they are that they have the right to choose the leader of another country? a lot of countries don't like george bush, should we then try to bully him out of power? america's "war" on iraq hurts only the innocent... look at all the starving people in iraq. they hate america even more now, and see saddam as a saviour. |

what do you think soldiers get 100K a year?.....they get payed ...and there are not enough soldiers to base the US economy on...it's the regula tax payers...not the hand full of soldiers.

it sure is when Hussein has been tied to Osama Bin laden and the Taliban aswell as several other terrorist groups accrose the board.

noone wants to bomb Iraq at random..its called a war..we would eb attacking Hussein and his army...and beleive if Hussein had the capabilities to attack America..he would.

because Hussein in NOT a leader...he is a butcher of his own people...and why is that you dont beleive that the people of Iraq arent able to govern themselves through a democratic government?...do you feel they should be under the dictatoship of a lunatic?..... |
