U take a look at the economic growth of countries that have succesfully fought major wars in history and you'll see war improves the economy massively. And I think if America were to go to war with Iraq and win they'd make a fair bit of the money for waging war back, on all that oil over there.....but that would never be going through anyones mind over in washington :rolleyes:

thats because America has forced unfair sanctions on Iraq trading there oil on the open market....the UN has repeteadly attempted to lift the sanctions with America boycotting the vote...and other following suite soon after (not that it would have mattered, America's approval seems more important than 10 european countries approval nowadays...the kyoto agreement springs to mind...and thats oil related as well I believe :p)

well from various TV programs...and from what my grandad has said (he was stationed in belsen towards the end and immediately after)...the americans didnt have much to do with the european battles as 'hollywood' would have you believe....it was the russians who sacrificed millions....and pushed the germans back...and were the first ones knocking on berlins door....and I'll remember the quote from the Panorama Special (british current affairs program) as long as I live...they were interviewing one of the soldiers who was over there towards the end of the war.."the americans didn't do any real work, they sats on there lazy behinds smoking cigarettes and chatting up the locals"....Priceless :stongue: |
