Not weird, most Black & Blues and other events at the stadium have been in the 'garages', not on the main field. |

That's right, this wasn't the first time BnB was not in the main field while at Olympic. The 1996 one was also in the same spot, with Tenaglia headlining. Speaking of Tenaglia, I hear he was there on Sunday.
Nice job AY STAR...I also heard good things about JOC, I caught a bit of his set, some of Boiler, Max, Artento and Offset. I heard they had a nice lazerrrrr in there. Great energy in that room, good banging beats.
Not surprisingly there wasn't much decorations.. this isn't a big deal to me but it is to a some. I figure with all of those talented djs there wasn't going to be much allocated to decor.
But if this thing grows it could def surpass BeB in due time, as the music is far superior and the ticket is much better bang for the buck (broken record). The 2011 attendance numbers were at least comparable: 12K at BeB and maybe 8-10K at BnB. |

| i was told a piece of concrete fell on someone's head (wtf) and that the production was overall crap...no deco, no visuals except playing cards on the walls. this coming from someone who's been to mannnnny black and blues...i hope everyone got their money's worth. |

One arrest at Black and Blue party in Montreal
8,000 dancers party during 15-hour annual event at Olympic Stadium

MONTREAL – One man in his 30s was arrested for drug possession with intent to traffic during the 21st annual edition of the Black & Blue dance party at the Olympic Stadium that ended Monday at noon.
The 15-hour party, which reportedly had 8,000 attendees, saw about 20 people refused entry at the door because they were searched by privately-hired security agents and found to have drugs on them, Montreal police Constable Olivier Lapointe said.
The one arrest is one of the lowest arrest records in the event’s history, Black and Blue spokesperson Mélanie Roy said. She credited the low arrest record to good coordination between event organizers and the 300 volunteers, some of whom conducted searches of people arriving at the door. People’s pockets and shoes were searched, she said.
The party included 18 DJs spinning in two large rooms. The annual event raises funds for HIV/AIDS and gay and lesbian groups but this year, an estimated 55 per cent of the partiers were heterosexual, Roy said.

lol nah i know i go out to calderone parties in nyc and i went to bal en blanc 2008 and iam aware of the gay crowds
this was just wow over the top, the mens room was just disgusting i wont get into it ha ha
they didnt bother me or try and touch me tho so whatever i did my thing they did theirs |

That's the funny byproduct of having a trance room at Black and Blue :p
I just saw on FB that an 18 year old was eaten by a bear, the bear was puking up glowsticks afterwards. |

There were 0 deco but that gave it a nice underground feel to it. The only thing that pissed me off is the bathroom. Regular bathrooms are for vip and those who only paid "90$" had to use the bathrooms you get @ outdoor events that smell like death. Thank god that one of my friends had a vip bracelet and you could take them off easily to swap.
IMO, I prefer by far Palais de Congres as venue. (Loved the vibe and the minimal decor for Sasha n Digweed event).
As for music, came in @ 5 am. Mark Anthony was playing in the house room and really not my cup of tea. In my head, I was waiting for 9 am to hear Hernan because he blew my brains away last year. 6:45 arrived and D-Formation entered the decks. Never seen him. I thought he played tribal house a-la-chus-n-cebalos. Actually he didn't. He played amazing tech-house. I was blown away by his set. As the set progressed, it became more raw/evil.
9 AM, Hernan entered the decks. I was expecting him to play like he did last year. Very progressive and very melodic. It wasn't the case. He did play progressive but with a techy sound to it. Reminded me a bit his Circus set that he did this february.
All in all, good vibe. Saw soo many Stereo regulars, the crowed was very nice. Amazing job on the bookings guys! My friends that enjoy trance, loved the trance room. See you guys next year! |
