Great line up and was nice to see some good talent in there. Reminded of the old Cream line ups. Had fun, but realized the massive events ain't for me anymore Cruzied in around 3:30. Warmed up, stretched, scoped out the floor, look for the hot pockets, the usual before a big event, walked into the sounds of DJ Vibe...Excellent tracks and set from what I heard. Personally I'm not a fan of Mark Anthony, but I know he's been around for a very longtime and has a following here. An 1 hour and half Max would have been tolerable. The track selection was pretty bad, inconsistent, had no flow. I think if his spot was in the 12-2...would have been better suited for the event, him and the fans, flow and fit the direction where Vibe brought it to. Happydude's review is Spot on with Mark Anthony's set. Spent the last hour of MA's set just anxiously waiting for the switch over.
The bathroom situation was disgusting. I dry gagged when I walked in the first time. I really feel for anybody or girl that had to take a crap and put their bare ass in those packed porto potties stacked with 3 feet high. I felt like I needed to be hosed down with sterlizing product.
Ran into lots of old friends, familar faces from here in Montreal, had fun, but find the vibe and energy was lacking, just my opinon. I didn't bother to travel to the front. It was a sea of men. Spent a lot of time looking around for a good pocket of energy..never really found it.
D-formation was good for bring the party back to where vibe left it. The actual set was only ok, but too short of a time slot. Longer time slot...He's a marathon DJ. 4 Hour minimum. Probaly one of the least memorable sets I've seen by him to date. Not even close to his sets delivered at Stereo. Still good, but not to what he can deliver in the right setting, slot. By the time Hernan came on....I was tired and wanted to split as much as I love him. Went up to the 2nd floor and just watched the master of mixing in action. Really progressive and built, just didn't have the patience to last till noon. I would have lasted....but that one set really bored me to death.
The big events, as much as I used to love them. Just not my cup of tea anymore. If it's outdoors I'm in, otherwise I'll stick to a tighter setting. Has anyone considered booking a massive at Jean Drapeau ?? Hernan Outdoors...summer time. 2 Day Event. Whole day event..Sun up, sun down. The Big O is a in dump ...and I'd love to see that Eye sore of a stadium torn down. How many decades did it take to pay that off!? And what 2 Monster truck rally's, An AL"S game if they make the playoffs and possible a Massive event. Shut er down!
Good to see a strong improvement on the Line ups this year. Palais congres, cleaner, more easy accessible, nicer surroundings, decor, appropiate bathroom standards.
Heard something about DT playing Stereo on Thrusday night ??

Ya agree with a lot of your thoughts. Well written man.
Check out the response Louis wrote about an outdoor party in the other thread on top here. He says weather is too unpredictable. :/
Oh ya.. Danny is playing Thursday :D for 15 bucks! Gonna go in the morning before class.

Thanks Marcus! Yeah from a business angle...for sure. It's a huge Risk investment to make cause of the weather and I total understand why it hasn't been done...but fakk Imagine that! DT Thrusday....Rite on. What a Solid guy! Shows he really has a soft spot for our city.

Not to distract from the subjet at hand, but to answer a question, a few years ago the price of demolishing the stadium and cleaning up mounted to 500M$... tens of thousands of truck trips would be needed to move the cement alone.

Thanks! Yeah you're right, that jogs my memory I remeber reading that 2 years ago, just the sight of it brings back the amount of defict and time it took to pay for it. Those same dump trucks and the transportation of raw materials to build the actual stadium were part of the high cost on it. Ex. Dump truck companies being counted 500 times by counters, billing 500 and actually only being 100 trucks, etc.

they should fill it with dirt and make the world's biggest flower pot.

It'll get torn down eventually. It's just a matter of time. :D And I'm not saying 100 years or something I mean within 25 years.
100$ on it.

Weather in Western Europe is crap and unpredictable in Summer but we have nice festivals, just need some covered areas.
Would love to see this in MTL.

Who thought you would ever see 6000-8000 people dancing and loving every seconds of it at -25 in Old Montreal at Igloofest?
Montreal is really alive and rockin in the summer. Throw an outdoor party in a beautiful environment (Parc-Jean Drapeau) with the legendary and sublime Montreal women, they will come and it'll be bigger than what we can ever imagine!
If it pours, that will make for an even dirtier party...Montreal style!
