High quality business cards are going to cost between $0.10 to $0.15 per card if you are buying 500. I really don't think the $0.06 to $0.07 per card is overpriced for the quantity being bought. |
Ford can't have it both ways you know; either personal business card frill expenses like "high quality" stock is 'gravy', or it's ok to spend 4x what you should in order to get 'quality'.

most of the Councillors are getting their cards through the city for approximately $0.05 per card. My question would be why does Matlow need 3000 business cards when most Councillors are only getting 500. There are some Councillors who are spending over $0.27 per card. |
Other than to demonstrate that cards can in fact be had for far cheaper than Ford paid, this is irrelevant. FORD campaigned on eliminating gravy and he turns around and does this. Just incredible.
It's nonsense from beginning to end.
No, more than that, it is actually illegal from beginning to end, since not only did he charge taxpayers 4x what he should have, he personally made money off of it:

| The way I see it he paid 4 times less then some Councillors did. |

tard and Stintz just raised bulk fares (10, and I'm guessing 5 token purchases) $.10, as well as Metropasses, while leaving cash fares sitting at $3. Great job, penalise those who use and need the service the most, while taking it easy on tourists, occasional riders and six-figure ticket collectors.
Someone else made note of the fact that the amount that Ford gave back to drivers by eliminating the vehicle registration tax, is essentially what the average TTC rider will be shelling out extra, annually, with the new fare increase.
Way to address the city's increasing sprawl, congestion and pollution issues, Herr Ford! |

He's a dumbass....like not in any way, shape, or form intelligent. His platform was based on made up numbers and populist catch phrases that play to the financial illiterate. I feel sorry for most of the people who actually believe what he says regarding fiscal targets and his plans to achieve them.
He clearly doesn't have any idea what he's doing. This is evidenced by the constant back and forth between things....ie. I want to do this, oh wait, I can't do that....well I'm going to do this instead, oh wait, that's not going to work. He's completely clueless with respect to the legal constraints that bind his proposed initiatives.
To me, I find it very troubling how people as dumb as Rob Ford can come into such a high position of power. I see it as nothing more than a deterioration in the pragmatic and intellectual superiority that guided the western world to global dominance over the last half century. We're officially well into our decline, and people like Rob Ford being in a position that is clearly well beyond their capabilities is your evidence.
The stupid wanted to build a ferris wheel and mega mall in the downtown area. Are you effin kidding me, clark? Minus seven points for originality you buffoon. |

| Under the guise of maintaining campaign promises, you can't complain about the vehicle tax being eliminated (if he stuck to the other promises as well (i.e. no cuts / "efficiencies" / etc.)) but since that has gone out the window I really don't understand the rationale behind cutting revenue streams while simultaneously bitching about there not being enough $ for everything. Unless, of course, that was the goal: eliminate revenue streams and then go cost-cutting to deflect from the fact that there wasn't much gravy to be found. |

You can if you didn't vote for him. ;)

He is making mistakes left, right and center.
But just do one thing for me, before you finish your term. Get rid of every lazy, corrupt union who "serves" Toronto! Well that, and balance the books.
That and give control of the TTC over to Metrolinx. It is time for us to coordinate transit in this country. Germany was such a dream to travel through. I only had to go to one website to travel the whole country! DB for the win. |
