ah it was just an article detailing how Rob Ford shred all the documents relating to his illegal business card purchase. in the grand scheme of Rob Ford behaviour, it ain't no thang - there's always something worse he's bound to do in the not-so-very distant future!

Interesting numbers: Germany is 1/3 the area of Ontario and nearly 3x the population of Canada. We have different transportation issues.

The only area that should be used for comparison is the gta vs Germany

GTA stats: GDP: $323b (~20% of the country), area 7124km^2 (~0.7% of the country), population: 6.0m (~18% of the country)
GDP/km^2 = $45m
Bodies/km^2 = 842
Per capita GDP = $53.4k

Germany stats: GDP: $3,310b, area 357,000km^2, population 81.8m
GDP/km^2 = $9m
bodies/km^2 = 229
Per capita GDP = $39.3k

Time to separate! Haha.

so my answer is yes, ford is doing just fine!

actually NO. Miller balanced the budget and had a practical and fully funded transit plan and introduced measures to bring in revenue.

Ford has cut revenue by eliminating the registration tax and he wants to cut land transfer but that's something even he can't stomach. He has a transit plan that is totally unfunded and he's spending more money than Miller yet cut revenue.

So from a fiscal perspective, Ford is crazy. Who cuts their income and increases their spending???

how so? he increased spending across the Board. wasted hundreds of millions (YES WASTE) on his unfunded subway to nowhere plan before getting his sense beat back into him and implementing transit city again.

He eliminated income source that he's using/enjoying (vehicle registration tax) and will need to find to replace. He's using the previous regime (Miller)'s money saved/surplused now.

He's a total financial illiterate idiot.

I really hope he can strong arm the TTC unions, the way he did the city unions. The TTC union is the biggest threat to our way of life in Toronto. We are looking to impose a tax to come up with the funds that the TTC wastes on unionized inefficiencies.

Fire all the collectors, and fire them back for 2/3 the wage. Hell, hire students to do the same . You know their math will be better.

Bye-bye, and good riddance!

Next time around can we head in the opposite direction and elect a visionary?
