Key word here. And the only people that perceive this similarity are religious folks. The only "leap of faith" that science-minded people use is having faith that our eyes and ears, our senses, and the laws of nature we've evinced using our senses are correct. The only way there is any similarity to the faith of religion is to the solipsist, or the nihilist, who says that nothing can be known, that reality may just be a complex computer simulation, or we may all be the creation of a single individual's dreaming mind. Only in such a reality is the "faith" we put in our senses and in the laws of nature we recognize with our senses comparable to religious faith. Science is not a system of belief. It is the honest expression of our senses interpreting reality and devising a systematic explanation for realistic phenomena. Only if the world was akin to "the matrix" does the religious person's claim that science is also faith-based have any validity. |

Neither does atheism. |

You're misunderstanding the definition of atheism. Atheism doesn't require evidence. It is the position that no evidence exists for a God. Atheists don't say "there is evidence for no god," they say "there is no evidence for god."
There is a subtle but important distinction there. |

| atheism is just as ridiculous as religion only slightly more arrogant. the world isn't black and white.. the answer lies in the middle and that's a resounding "I don't know". |

| I don't really disagree with atheism, it's just that the majority of atheists I've come across are overwhelmingly arrogant and overly fervent with their desire to criticize theism. It's almost like they are more concerned with "proving" theists to be wrong than anything else. See: Nou. |

Funny that such lofty ideals are conveyed through such tortured syntax. |

Once they admit they are wrong and go away we can stop having people like me. Till then... :) |

Thats ing bull. No proof what so ever for some sort of magical power that created everything versus proof for the big bang, proof for evolution. There is no "middle ground" when it comes to religion vs. science. Either you believe in fairy tales and myth or you believe in things you can touch, see and feel. |

They can't be proven wrong any more than atheism can be proven wrong. |

Proof of evolution doesn't prove that a god doesn't exist, nor does "proof" (which doesn't exist) for the big bang theory. You're an idiot. |
