I have always respected the work of Laurent, his progression over the years is unbelievable - he started with that bangin trance sound DJ Tietso used to play (his remixes of Andy Ling - Fixation, In My Memory, Summer Calling). Around 2003 he moved to that old coldharbour sound (especially under the Antidote, Lolo and Nova aliases, including the collab with Jon O'Bir 'the promise i made' which still reminds me of the good old Bonzai days).
Anyway we need guys like Laurent, Christopher Lawrence, J00F, Askew, O'Callaghan, Orkidea and every other DJ/Producer who still have the love and passion for true trance. |

| Just gonna say this, but I'm kind of amused that Christopher Lawrence decided to remix LMFAO this year. Well, I'm really hoping for some really good answers in this thread, because I dropped off trance, such as it was, under indifferent circumstance a long while ago. No single event, just a gradual pull away. Seeing the proclaimed latest and greatest mentioned, I'm disappointed. I like what is coming from dub techno and tech house these days. To me, they're very reminiscent of progressive trance and progressive house as they were 10 years ago. Now, I'm just stranded and looking for signs of creativity in the "real" trance world. |

| I have huge respect for Christopher Lawrence. Like his mate J00F he's stuck to his guns with trance. His label Pharmacy is killing it on the release front at the moment. |

personally, i cant stand this new stuff..you would have to look pretty hard to find someone who remained 'true' to trance.......unless it was your friends basement setup
so i look back to when i joined and liked all the fluff and now think the same about the new people
lol
so many more interesting genres out there......... |

| The situation in the Trance scene is similar to the Hip Hop scene. Swear to God. |

| i don't know why djs don't run classic nights more often, i think tiesto can sell out an arena both with the electro and with a classic set and "smaller" djs surely can get better results, it's technically possible to do this just set a limitation, on this event music past 2000 won't be played, maybe a set on vinyls... |

tiesto said he's officaly done with trance, so the chance of hearing him play a classics set is very rare
but on the real me personally i wouldnt mind to hear a tiesto classics set rangeing from 98-2004 and iam not talking about just his productions, like he really digs deep and bangs out some good trance |

| not necessarily tiesto, i suppose that if anyone that it's not on the top 100 throws a classic party the amount of people that assist won't be very high but if the big names start playing classic sets soon it would become normal, PvD playing his early 2000's sets... woah |
