I can tolerate homosexuality, but I will never be able to accept it as a natural behavior. It just physically, doesn't make any sense. I mean I suppose a man can have natural feelings for another man, but no, we shouldn't celebrate it.

Anyway I never had it in mind that you had an opinion of me at all and this is a music forum and that is my only reason for being here at the end of the day so nothing gained nothing lost;)

First of all, Adam, I like you and consider you a friend. K?

Second, your mentality is extremely out-dated.

You must not know many open-minded or forward-thinking people.

I don't see homosexuality as a positive thing for society. I also don't see it as a negative thing. I see it as something that just is. However, I do see acceptance of homosexuality as a positive thing for society. Different people have different brains and are attracted to different things. I don't see how that is bad for society in any way whatsoever.

Society hasn't fed me the idea that its okay, actually; I grew up going to an extremely conservative school that basically told me that all gay people should be killed. Science has just told me that there is nothing wrong with being homosexual and it's natural.

People are born gay. People are born straight. People are born bisexual, transexual, pansexual, etc, etc. People are born asexual. It doesn't matter. Everyone's brain is just wired different.

The only reason you dislike the idea of homosexuality is because you have been fed the idea that it's bad, unnatural, and wrong.

Trust me guys, I'm not racist at all. I have several black friends.

Same exact argument ;)

I guess it's kind of a weird place to be. To be totally accepting of somebody yet not at the least bit embracing them.

And you Ryan, you ing f@ggot.

no, I never said that it was bad for society. my point of view is clearly one of indifference. and also, being happy about the fact that gay people have earned their rights is a separate thing all together. I'm also happy that black people and women have more rights. same thing. I don't think anybody should be repressed.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't think my position is so extreme that it bothers you, and if it does, well I don't know what to say because I'm not the type who would ever advocate negative behavior towards gay people.

I'm just with the camp that believes plus goes with minus, plus doesn't go with another plus. like magnets or whatever the you want to compare it to.

Lastly, I still do not believe, and will probably never be convinced that anybody is born gay. Nobody is born anything. Aside from the influence of genetics and others prenatal factors, I think that people are basically blank slates when they are born, and immediately begin to be influenced and shaped by their environment into the kind of person that they are.

Dude, what the are you on, seriously? I am one of the most open-minded, liberal and [I like to think] forward-thinking people that I know, but unless you are gay, the only reason you would see homosexuality as a positive thing is that society fed you the idea that it's ok, and in fact encouraged to think so.

Well, where do you think you got the idea that being gay was unnatural and not an "okay" thing? Were you born with that notion in your brain, or did "society" perhaps give it to you somewhere along the way?

Look at the end of the day, I really really don't think I'd see myself supporting any move that would limit gay rights. I mean don't get me wrong I am realizing that my logic maybe somewhat flawed in that I realize the many different ways it could be tested, but I still stand by it for the most part.

And being progressive for the sake of being progressive. Change should come over time, and it should arise out of need. We shouldn't force change upon ourselves. I'm just saying that because I have a feeling that when you say "You must not know many open-minded or forward-thinking people" you are referring to the type of people who don't openly accept change when it comes to them, but rather choose to pursue it.
