true that, but even if its good it doesnt necessarily mean you will get hits.
a big part i find is reputable dj's within your niche playing your tracks. if they're good enough for them, good things should happen for you also, you're not converting new people onto edm most likely so it only makes sense. hopefully i get more of this, this year. it all seems pretty intricate :} find ways yo get yourself exposure of the right kind.
perhaps ill be using a website + mixcloud integration type plan like airwave is doing. |

Agree wit this statement, would definitely invest $100.00 in SoundCloud, it will give you another avenue to spread your music around, may not be perfect but this should be consider as one of meany way to get yourself known and recognize.

| the thing is people should have a plan, a very good plan, i dont have one myself. not do all these things blindly, it just wont be super effective. |

We have to be supper flexible as music production is/become very challenging art/job to do/perform. There is not easy environment to work in/with and situation will change constantly which will require constant correction to your plan. First and the most important this which a lot of people forget about is quality of your/my/anybody music and then you can take another step which is getting yourself known on the market.
I believe that you are ready M.

I think it's worthwhile to have a soundcloud account IMO.
It is useful to know who have been listening to your tracks and track some stats of what's going on. It's good to know if someone significant has been taking interest in your music, and not "DJ SPAM-EVERYONE-TO-LISTEN-TO-MY-TRACK-JERSEY-SHORE"
As for me, I'm slowly working on the following to gain sort of an online presence and almost a "digital resume" so to speak in terms of my music.
Personal Website
Facebook pages
Soundcloud
Mixcloud
Youtube
Twitter |

Sorry but that bandwidth to value ratio seems like a skank to me.
OK, so I get with soundcloud you get the whole social aspect but frankly, getting some server space with nice download limits, then adapting an existing HTML 5 or flash player (like soundcloud's with a preview thing and even markers etc) would not cost you much more that 2 year's soundcloud layout and best of all, it's your forever.
You could then integrate your twitter, facebook on to your hosting site, make it all in hybrid wordpress page and optimize for SEO, add a e-store widget for your tracks that integrates with all the social media and away you go. |

And what if you don't know how to do all this on your own? |

| Yes Rann, but you have to realize that Soundcloud in itself is a social media. It is essentially the instagram (social media for photos) for music. |

| agreed rann, they are on the pricey side relative to storage space costs. i know a few developers in java, im sure they could help me out a ton. |
