Murders?

Have you even sat down with Reaper?

The fact that its free as a trial.. Uncrippled trial, should let you know their perspective on the DAW world, and they really put them to shame.

Pro-tools is a like a pretty b!tch who dont clean, cook, or suck ya dick.
Its really that bad! LOL

While Reeaper just that sexy hood ride or die joint. nah mean!

Man I sat there and waited for Pro-Tools to open up for the last time in a long time 2 nites ago. Just to restricting man.

I have no problem with you loving pro-tools.

It just so happens to be Reaper killed MY pro-tools. I know quick keys, quick edits and all in PT I'll use it when neccessary. But I will never use it in the comfort of my own home.

The fact I can now work on my projects anywhere. anytime. Just nullifies pro-tools in my book.

Why pay 150 for an upgrade. 209 for a m-box micro. who knows how much for an HD rig. and sit there and spend all sorts of money with one company.

When I get most of that with the "FREE" Reaper. I can spend my money on Spectronics, Keyboards, Mics you get the picture?

Funk Pro-Tools it aint the end all be all, and everybody knows it.

There's a problem with the engine that doesn't compensate for automation with 3rd party plug-ins.

So take something like Sylenth1, automate the filter, render it, then look at where the filtering occurs.

You mean after you've rendered the project, in your music, the automation isn't sounding the same as in the DAW? Or do you mean visually watching the automation and hearing the sound inside the DAW? Never really had an issue with that so I'm not sure what you mean.

I would consider it, but I love Ableton's groove pool way too much. I use it endlessly. Aside from that I would be willing to try it out.

The top channel is the filter automation, and the bottom channel is the render.

You can see the waveform not being filtered for about 20 milliseconds.

The problem is when you start getting into rhythmic automation or inserting plug-ins that require rhythmic precision, you get ed if its a 3rd party VST.

Wow, that is pretty ed up. I think I know what you mean... I guess I always just compensate for it mentally and acoustically, if it's off I just go back and do necessary changes but I know what you mean. I do a lot of rhythm automation with envelopes in Jupiter and haven't had any issues, but I'm probably compensating until I get the desired result. Interesting. Does it sound 20ms delayed in the DAW, or just after the render?

reaper just has too many bugs for professional use. I love the concept, but like when you can' t even use the wave suite, well .....
Normie
Waves suite as in Horizon/Platinum etc? They work fine to my knowledge. Guys on the Reaper board often discuss them/their use of them. The only one I'm aware of that had a problem is Vocal Rider and there's a simple workaround for it.

Reaper's big issue is control surface integration. IE no compatability with the big boards like SSL/Euphonix etc.
